Jorhat Medical College (JMC) was established on August 25, 2008 by Dr. Manmohan Singh, 13th Prime Minister of India with the aim of providing quality education and health care to society. The college is affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Assam and approved by Medical Council of India.

The college is associated with 500 bedded ultramodern hospital, which has Ultramodern imaging facilities, a full-fledged scientifically designed patient complex, OT complex with modular OTs, CSD, recovery facilities etc.
