Question 1

Do I need a Maharashtra domicile to get admission in Terna Medical College through state quota?

Accepted Answer

Yes, state quota seats require a valid Maharashtra domicile certificate. Non-domicile candidates can only apply through the All India Quota managed by MCC. Register at mcc.nic.in after NEET-UG or NEET-PG results are declared to participate in AIQ rounds.

Question 2

Is the NEET-PG requirement for MD Anaesthesiology at Terna easier to meet than for other specialisations?

Accepted Answer

Generally, yes. MD Anaesthesiology has 8 seats at Terna, the largest pool among all MD specialisations. More seats means the closing rank tends to be slightly more relaxed compared to high-demand choices like Radio Diagnosis or General Medicine. That said, this varies every year based on the total applicant pool and national seat matrix, so do not rely solely on historical closing ranks.

Question 3

Can I secure an Institute Quota MD seat directly by contacting the college, without going through counselling?

Accepted Answer

No. Even for Institute Quota seats, admission must follow the formal counselling process under Maharashtra regulations for private medical colleges. The college cannot admit students outside the seat allotment framework. Candidates interested in Institute Quota should participate in Maharashtra State CET Cell counselling rounds and select their preferences accordingly.

Question 4

How is patient exposure for MD students at Terna Medical College?

Accepted Answer

Student discussions consistently mention that patient load at the attached hospital is moderate. For clinical branches like General Medicine, OBG, and Surgery, this can affect hands-on training compared to larger government teaching hospitals. For para-clinical specialisations like Pathology, Radio Diagnosis, or Community Medicine, patient volume matters less. Keep this in mind when ranking your preferences during counselling.

Question 5

What is the deadline for internship completion to be eligible for MD admission 2026-27?

Accepted Answer

Candidates must have completed one year of compulsory rotating internship on or before the date of joining the PG programme. The exact cut-off date is specified by Maharashtra State CET Cell and NMC in the annual counselling prospectus. Confirm the precise date from the official Maharashtra PG counselling notification once released for 2026-27.

Question 6

If I participated in Maharashtra NEET-PG counselling in 2025-26 but did not get a seat, do I need to re-appear for NEET-PG for 2026-27 admission?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each academic year has a separate NEET-PG examination and counselling cycle. Your 2025-26 NEET-PG score is not valid for the 2026-27 admission cycle. You must appear for NEET-PG 2026, scheduled for August 30, 2026, and register fresh for both MCC AIQ and Maharashtra state counselling for the 2026-27 batch.
