MIT-WPU Admission Process
MIT-WPU conducts entirely independent admissions, separate from DTE Maharashtra CAP. There is no government quota or management quota distinction. Every candidate applies through the university portal with an entrance exam score and a Statement of Purpose.
B.Tech Admission
Candidates with JEE Main or MHT-CET scores are directly eligible and do not need to appear for the university’s own PERA CET. Eligibility requirements:
- 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
- Chemistry, Biotechnology, or equivalent as the third subject
- Valid JEE Main, MHT-CET, or PERA CET score (any non-zero positive score qualifies)
- 500-word Statement of Purpose submitted at application
- Application fee: INR 2,000
After application, MIT-WPU issues merit-based offer letters. Merit scholarships (100%, 50%, 25% fee waiver) are automatically applied based on entrance exam percentile at the time of offer letter generation. There is no separate scholarship application required for the merit waivers.
B.Tech Lateral Entry Admission
Diploma holders from AICTE-approved polytechnics may apply for direct second-year B.Tech admission. Allotment is on diploma aggregate merit or PERA CET score, handled by MIT-WPU directly.
M.Tech Admission
M.Tech admission requires a valid GATE score in the relevant paper. Candidates need a B.Tech in the relevant discipline. MIT-WPU processes M.Tech allotments directly. M.Tech Medical Device Innovation additionally accepts MBBS and Pharmacy graduates with GATE or equivalent qualification.
