Placement Experience :

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for placement. On average 250 recruiting teams visit every year. A maximum of 43.31lpa package was offered and the minimum was 3.30 lpa. Avg was 7.50 lpa. The median salary was 6.20 LPA. 300+ students have internship offers and some were converted to full-time offers. Around 65 percent of students are placed and the maximum number of students went for higher education. Some branches have a very low placement rate. My plan is to go abroad for further studies.

Remarks :

MIT is the Institute of eminence. It provides a wide choice of courses. Various Student projects, technical clubs and nontechnical clubs are there. Infrastructure is one of the best in the country. Exposure is also the main factor as you learn to live with students from all over the world. Fees is at a higher point. Admission is through the MET exam and is held in April every year but it is delayed due to covid 19. MIT is a great college if you want to live 4 years to your fullest. Academics with other activities make it as a perfect choice. Student projects give a great hands-on experience on vehicles, mars rover, satellite, rockets etc. TMR, FM , MRM are few names of student projects. Technical clubs are in large number such as ISA, SAE, IE Mechanical, ASME, etc. other clubs and society includes dance group which is among top hip hop groups in India, various music, drama, art clubs are also there. NGO's are also there which are run by college students. While selecting college i asked my seniors.

Placement Experience :

Placement is good but packages that are offered are not very high near about 88% of students get placed with an average package of 4.5 LPA and a maximum of 28 LPA. Companies visited are very frequent. My plans are to get placed in well repuated company by end of my final semester as this Institute has a good record of that.

Remarks :

MIT is the best private university in India, with good NIRF rankings and marked as AAA+ Institute in India. It organised its own exam and to get the main branches your rank should be under 1000-1560. This Institute is the best in all the best place to pursue your dreams and to get a high-quality education.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for paid internships from the 5th semester itself though the actual placements start in the 7th semester. Many students grab the opportunities and bag pre-placement offers at the end of their summer internships. Around 180 companies visit the campus with an average offer of 7 every 10 students. The highest package for the 2020 batch was 42 lpa offered to Computer science students in Adobe. Other notable placements were in Microsoft, Maruti Suzuki, L&T construction, etc to name a few. The average package differs from branch to branch with it being highest for the Computer Science stream of around 7 lpa. Around 70 percent of students get placement offers before graduation. I myself got campus placed in Maruti Suzuki and have been working with them for 6 months and continuing.

Remarks :

Decent alumni recognition, excellent location, specifically good for mechanical engineering course as it has very reputed professors. Also, seats were given purely based on merit instead of quota. From websites like quora, the feedback was that college life is great in terms of the overall development. The admission process is fairly straightforward. Seperate entrance exam is conducted and based on the score the counseling procedure as scheduled. Exam happens around May-June. The exam can be given twice and the best score out of 2 is considered. The college boasts of distinguished alumni such as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Rajeev Suri amongst a few which is always attractive. Apart from that, the cosmopolitan open culture is always a great driver for experiential learning and overall growth. Lastly not forgetting to mention that specifically Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and most reputed streams in the college which is a great morale booster.

Placement Experience :

Placements are pretty good. There is a good balance of tech / non-tech and management profile. Companies like Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Amazon visit the campus for recruitment. The highest package offered is of around 43lpa with an average of around 7 LPA.

Remarks :

The reviews of the college from the alumni were really encouraging and none of them seemed to be disappointed with their college experience. The exposure which the college provided further lured me into the decision. Good - 1. Student community is really friendly. There is no scope of ragging and the authorities take strict actions if there is any. 2. Exposure is immense there are a plethora of clubs be it technical/non- technical/cultural where you can pursue your hobbies/ hone your skills and learn to work in a team. 3. Manipal is an amazing place to stay and there are various recreational spots to explore. Bad - 1. The fee is high. 2. Some of the professors aren't interested in teaching and just run slides, most of the learning is out of the classroom.

Placement Experience :

The placements in Manipal are great for all the branches. The success rate is around 86% for the top branches and the offers are high. The highest packages are in the range 15-20 lakhs per annum and some offers tend to go till 40 lakhs. The top recruiters are Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Accenture. The lowest packages are about 3-5 lakhs per annum and the average packages are 6-8 lakhs per annum. The job and internship offers are increasing each year. In the last cycle, 1089 offers were given to the students and the highest package was 43.31 lakhs per annum to a computer-related branch student. Around 300+ students converted their internship offers to job offers. The placement cell of MIT is very competent and the best companies visit each year. I am planning to work in a company for around a year and then go for my masters.

Remarks :

Manipal Institute of Technology is the second-best private college in India after BITS Pilani. MIT is an Institution of Eminence which was a big reason to join. The exposure provided here in terms of the activities, fests, clubs and student projects are best when compared to other colleges. There is a good and informal bond between juniors and seniors here with no instances of ragging or bullying. There is a student buddy program here in which each first-year student is allotted a senior as a mentor who will clear all doubts of the junior. The admission process takes into account the MET Score and the counselling process is smooth and impartial. There is the NRI Quota for students from abroad. MIT's placement cell is very competent and big companies like Microsoft, Amazon and Goldman Sachs are the top recruiters. Overall, Manipal Institute of Technology is a great choice.

Remarks :

It's a reputed college. Mainly joined it for its name and good placements. The exposure to different opportunities. The ability to be able to meet new people from many other places and being able to discover yourself and participate in different extracurriculars. I heard that it would help in my overall personality development and so I joined MIT. Also, because this town, Manipal is mainly know to be a student town. You are free to live on your own terms and work towards what you want to do.

Placement Experience :

I'm not sure as I'm still in my third semester. I just do know know that the packages are good and top rank companies visit our college for placements.

Remarks :

Actually, there were many. Top one was, this college had the highest ranking record and better placement stats than the other. This college has a relatively lower student to teacher ratio too. The campus is not too crowded as well, unlike some other ones like VIT. And I heard from other seniors as well that it was a good college. One of my friends initially joined VIT but had to leave it because of its crowd.

Placement Experience :

Very good. Many big companies visit our campus. The average CTC offered is somewhere between 7 and 8 LPA. Max reaches up to somewhere around 35 LPA. The placement is similar to many other colleges. You can find more info about it in their official website.

Placement Experience :

All the big names in the industry do visit manipal every now and then. The number of students placed is also decent and is overall better than the other private colleges.Notable alumini from Manipal Institute of Technology include Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft), Rajeev Suri (CEO of Nokia), etcThe entrepreneur cell in college is satisfactorily well made and provides opportunities for students to grow their startups in all possible ways.

Ques. Which University is better for Engineering: MIT Manipal or PEC Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Sudeshna Bhar on 05 May 21

Ans. Based on what I learned from my friends at these two institutes, I will recommend that you choose MIT Manipal. Many students and faculty in the industry argue that MIT graduates are doing much better than many of their IIT and NIT peers. The reason behind this is the well-rounded personality development you get to experience at MIT Manipal. Campus Life: The campus life is hassle-free, unlike many other private colleges, there are no base-less rules in place. The infrastructure at MIT is great. The sports facilities offered at MARENA Manipal are one of the best in the locality. The hostel and mess facilities offered are quite good too.  Coding Culture: The institute has a great coding culture. There are various clubs like ACM Manipal, IECSE, MIST, LUG that helps you develop coding skills. Many coding competitions, hackathons, are organized around the academic year, some of these include Microsoft Code Fun Do, AngelHack, etc. The institute also witnessed the launch of many start-ups. Projects: Various student projects like Parikshit (student satellite team), MRM (Mars Rover Manipal), RoboManipal, AeroMIT, SolarMobil are doing quite well and are considered among the top 5 university team in the world.  Placements: The institute is witnessing an upward placement curve with reputed MNCs like Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Dell, Seagate visiting the campus.  Higher Studies: You can easily spot MIT alumni pursuing higher studies at reputed universities like MIT Boston, Harvard, UCLA, Stanford, Cornell, etc. Manipal has various coaching centers for GRE/GMAT preparations.  Alumni: The institute boasts of successful alumni. Satya Nadella, Rajeev Suri are some of the names worth mentioning.  Branch Strength: The total branch strength of the first year for MIT is around 2000. The compact branch size is another plus point for MIT. No Management Quota: Another important aspect that makes MIT stand out among other institutes is the lack of management quota. 95% of the admission at MIT is done based on merit and the other 5% is through the NRI quota. So, you will have a better peer group.  Going by the above factors it is safe to say that MIT Manipal is a great choice for an engineering degree. Read more

Ques. Which college is better: the RV College of Engineering or the MIT Manipal for civil engineering?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 29 Apr 21

Ans. I have friends from both RV College of Engineering and MIT Manipal, civil engineering holds the same value from either of them. It is because they both follow the same curriculum and guidelines laid by UGC and AICTE. However, both of them hold an edge over each other in their own way. Here’s why: MIT Manipal holds a bigger brand value as civil engineering was one of the branches it started and is known for. Other such branches include chemical and mechanical. If you are looking for better placements, RV College might be the right choice as it is located in Bangalore which clearly means more opportunities. Even if you are getting a computer science branch in MIT Manipal, go for it without a second thought. The table below shows a brief insight of both institutes: Particulars RV College of Engineering  MIT Manipal Highest Package 13 LPA 43.31 LPA Average Package 5.25 LPA 7.50 LPA Course Fees 14 Lakhs 16.26 Lakhs At the end of the day, your pool of interest matters the most. If you are getting your preferred branch, set the preferences that are more important to you. Are you looking for a great placement or great brand value? The choice is up to you.Read more

Ques. Which is better for a B.Tech in Computer Science: MIT Manipal, IIIT Sri City (Chittoor), or IIIT Guwahati?

● Top Answer By Sandip Pal on 29 Apr 21

Ans. I know a few students at IIIT Guwahati and therefore, I would try to answer your question. IIIT Guwahati is the highest-ranked IIIT among all the other IIITs by NIRF 2020. This is a huge achievement because it was established in 2013 under the Public-Private Partnership by the Government of India. It is growing rapidly. The CSE program at IIIT Guwahati is very well-developed meeting the standards of an IIT. The institute provides a good research facility. Also, in the first year, the course is the same for CSE and ECE. Here is a brief overview of the CSE program offered by these three institutes. Parameters  MIT Manipal IIIT Siri City  IIIT Guwahati  Average CTC 7.50 LPA 7 LPA 10.2 LPA Highest CTC 43.31 LPA 21 LPA 17 LPA Course Fee 17.06 lakhs 9.94 lakhs 9 lakhs At IIIT Guwahati, the B.Tech CSE program first starts with computing-oriented courses and later allows the possibility of doing science courses. The institute will definitely quench your thirst for computer science.Read more

Ques. Which among BIT, Mesra and MIT, Manipal is better in terms of academics, placements, faculty, internships, infrastructure, hostel and overall personality development?

● Top Answer By Manoj Maurya on 16 Feb 21

Ans. If the student is receiving the same branch in both of these colleges, then one should choose BIT Mesra over MIT Manipal. But if the student is receiving anything other than CSE in MIT Manipal then better go for BIT Mesra.  The table shows a brief overview of the institutions:  Particulars BIT Mesra MIT Manipal Median Salary Rs. 11.76 Lakh Rs.7.50 Lakh Entrance Criteria JEE Main MET / JEE Main Fees Rs. 13.15 Lakh Rs. 17.06 Lakh Overview: Academics, Placements, Faculty, Internships are better in BIT Mesra if compared to MIT Manipal as it has comparatively low fees than MIT and provides better placements offers. Infrastructure, Hostel and Overall personality development are better at MIT Manipal and these varieties are really immense. MIT Manipal does not provide international placements and if the student is applying for masters then MIT's brand name is not that noticeable.  BIT Mesra does offer international placements and has a better brand name outside for masters if compared to MIT Manipal. If the student does a slight hard work and keeps up the grades in MIT Manipal during their first year then the student can easily get upgraded to the CSE branch.  Upgradation of the branch in BIT Mesra is remarkably tough. If the student gets any branch below the Civil in BIT Mesra then better favour to go for the MIT Manipal. If the student is receiving anything similar to CS like IT in BIT Mesra then go for it. If the student is passionate about the branch they take, then they will do great wherever they go.Read more

Ques. What are your reviews of Manipal Institute Of Technology (Manipal)?

● Top Answer By Debdeep Majumder on 02 Feb 21

Ans. One of my friends is pursuing her 4th year in Mechanical Engineering from this college.  The table below shows a brief description of the institute: Category Manipal Institute of Technology Total Fee Per Year 3,60,000 Companies Visited Adani, Deloitte, SAP Labs, etc. Highest Package 22.38 lakhs Hostel fee 60,000 Following points are based on her experience in 3 years of engineering course at the institute: General life - As far as a life apart from academics is concerned, this is a great college. This college has a bundle of options from student clubs to proper technical clubs. Sports- The sports scenario is quite interesting. They have two semi-professional teams in Cricket and Football (MIT Cricket League and MIT Football League). There is tough competition here. Food - Manipal has two Mexican restaurants. You get several options and 9/10 you won't be disheartened with the gastronomy in Manipal. The mess of the College is far better than the ones in any other engineering college. Bars and recreation - The age-old belief that Manipal is known for its partying and drugs and alcohol is unfortunately true. There are plenty of temptations because everything is easily available to the students here. But it ultimately depends on the individual itself. Academics- The faculty for Mechanical and Civil is very liberal and knowledgeable. Education is more marks driven. The labs are not in a good stage (especially mechanical and civil). Placements- The placements are not good at Manipal. The companies are not frequent and pay pretty low packages. Majority of students can land an average job. The college is really uncooperative and does not care about the quality of the companies arriving. The number of core companies is reducing and the student intake is significantly increasing. Overall, Manipal does not fare well given their placement scenario is not up to the mark. But the college helps students in preparing for higher studies. This becomes a huge advantage for the students wanting to pursue higher education.Read more

"College in brief"

The college is among the top-ranked college in India. The quality of education is commendable. The facilities for all the co-curricular activities are also available. The admission process is simple. Firstly, the MET exam has to be qualified for being called for the counseling session. The education system in the college emphasizes more on practical knowledge and application rather than just theoretical knowledge. The college website, as well as other websites, including collegedunia.com, was referred while selecting the college.

"My MIT experience"

I chose Manipal Institue of Technology as it is an international level of college providing you great exposure and a well-supported faculty with most of them being PhD holders with 198 acres of campus under MIT, comes a 6 floored Marina Sports Complex as the college doesn't compromise with student's health and fitness. Above all comes some cons as there are fewer opportunities for core branches such as Aeronautical Engineering and many more and 75% attendance is a must even if you are a 10cgpa holder. The admission process begins with filling up the MAHE Entrance Test form obtaining a score out of 800 and therefore giving you an All India Rank. One has to go through a counselling procedure t

"Mit Manipal, what to expect"

The biggest pro of MIT Manipal is the campus and the overall atmosphere of the institute itself, almost every facility is available for the students. Fees are at a higher point. Apart from academics also there are various clubs both technical and non-technical. The admission process was different than usual owing to the pandemic, MET was organized via online proctored testing and the final admission was done on the basis of rank which was obtained from adding the MET score and the 12th board result.MET is usually held in April of every year. Activities offered apart from academics are some of the best in India. Referred to quora reviews and youtube videos.
