Ans. MCE does not publish comprehensive branch-wise placement data publicly. Among the three, B.Tech CSBS was developed with TCS, giving it a distinct industry-integrated curriculum suited to IT consulting and product roles. AI and Data Science is aligned to the fastest-growing sector in Tamil Nadu’s IT corridor, which may benefit long-term employment. IT is the more established track with a broader graduate pool. Ques. How does the TNEA cut-off differ across AI&DS, CSBS, and IT at MCE?
Ans. TNEA cut-off at MCE varies by specialisation and category each year. AI and Data Science and CSBS tend to attract stronger demand than IT due to industry relevance, and may have marginally higher cut-offs. General category candidates with PCM cut-off marks between 150 and 175 (out of 200) have historically been competitive for MCE B.Tech programmes. Ques. Can a student switch specialisations after joining MCE B.Tech?
