Placement Experience :

College placement is very good and 70% of students were selected in different companies like TCS, Infosys. Many students are eligible for placement and the placement criteria for college is 45% in academics.

Remarks :

Sardar Patel is one of the reputed colleges in India. After 12th the only moto which I had was to get a good college and a good branch. Sardar Patel was a dream college for me and getting admission over here was like a dream come true.

Placement Experience :

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.

Remarks :

SPIT has the best branches of engineering in the college. The admission process conducted is smooth. It is one of the top five best colleges for engineering in Mumbai. I preferred this college over others because the faculty, infrastructure, and environment provided to the students are awesome for students to grow in. The link for college website is www.spit.ac.in. The college has always encouraged students to participate in curricular as well as extracurricular activities and earn honors for themselves as well as the college.

Remarks :

Great placement opportunities, good staff and environment.Curriculum is great, other activities are also nice and the staff is approachable and friendly. Helpful peers and great campus. There is a techno cultural fest called oculus which is very popular in mumbai city. It is for 3 days with many many events and all college students can participate and enroll for the competitions and also a great experience for the audience. There is a dj night and also various celebrities visit during the fest. It's a very good experience.

Admission :

No there were no interviews before the admission and it is solely dependent on the marks of 12th std/ CET and diploma final year percentage.Students can get to know the previous years cutoff list on the website and prepare for the admission accordingly. Reserved category students need to apply for scholarship and needs to have all the documents ready beforehand.

Remarks :

Overall the college is quite good. There are ups and down for every college out there and this is also one of them but it has recently surpassed VJTI so it's a proud moment.

Admission :

I was admitted through my CET marks in 2016. I opted for the course because of the vivid opportunities abroad. And also in India. Initially we had to register for cap allotment and then according to merit rank, the college was alloted. There were total of 3 rounds and we had option to accept the college seat or let it go for better options.

The overall experience from SARDAR PATEL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is better than most colleges in Mumbai. It is one of the better colleges one can hope to do their engineering from. Ques. Are SPIT Mumbai and KJ Somaiya better than new IITs like IIT Tirupati, Jodhpur, Goa since the average pointer given by them out of 10 is much high above 8/9 easily and better placement as compared to

● Top Answer By Sandip Pal on 19 Jun 21

Ans. There are several advantages of taking admission into an IIT other than placements, even a quite newer one. Comparing institutes just based on the salary packages they offer should not be the only mode of judgment. There are several other aspects that you should consider while choosing among institutes, and some of them are listed below. The placement depends on your potential, institute matters the least. IITs are not distinguished as good or bad. They are just categorized as old IITs and new IITs.  The culture of any kind of IIT, old or new, is what makes the brand value even higher.  It is even worth more than a high salary package in some other institute. In IITs, there is a lot of peer-to-peer interaction. This helps greatly in developing communication skills and enhances your personality. You will be groomed to tackle the corporate world. Even new IITs provide excellent exposure in all fields, as compared to most other colleges in the country.  The student strength of new IITs is usually lesser than old ones. Therefore, you may choose institutes like KJ Somaiya and SPIT Mumbai for excellent salary packages in placement, but the essence and culture of IITs can help in your overall development.Read more

Ques. What is better between an engineering degree from Mumbai University or from any autonomous institute like VJTI, KJ Somaiya or SPIT?

● Top Answer By Rupohi Roy on 04 Jan 21

Ans. You may have confused SPIT (Sardar Patel Institute of Technology) with SPCE (Sardar Patel College of Engineering). SPIT is not an autonomous institute. The courses offered in SPIT are Computers, IT, Electronics, and Electronics and Telecom. Deciding Factors: If you are looking for any particular program, then you should narrow down your choice of college based on courses. If you are more college-driven then you should go through the following points to make the right decision. First, you should ask yourself about what do you want out of your engineering degree, whether it is academics, extracurricular, or co-curricular.  Also, it depends on your future goals. Whether you want good placements, seek higher education, or go for start-ups.  VJTI: Considering all the factors, VJTI is the best option. It is an autonomous college with a strong foundation. It also has a broad alumni base.  All these factors result in better internship opportunities, better placing companies, and a better network in education.  For extracurriculars, most of the engineering colleges in Mumbai offer almost the same opportunities. However, Thandomal, DJSCOE, and RAIT offer mesmerizing events. However, since extracurricular is not the sole factor of consideration, VJTI will be sufficient.  The placement statistics of recent years at VJTI are as follows. Average CTC 6.8 LPA Highest CTC 27 LPA Academics and co-curricular do not depend on the institute only. It is what you make of it. VJTI is the best choice as it provides a good network and exposure. Preference Order: The preference order of the institutes other than VJTI is as follows.  Placement- SPIT>DJSCOE>KJSCOE Reputation- SPIT>KJSCOE>DJSCOE Academics- SPIT>DJSCOE>KJSCOE Alumni- DJSCOE>KJSCOE>SPIT Extracurricular- DJSCOE>SPIT>KJSCOE If you get admission to VJTI you should definitely opt for it. You should consider what course you are choosing and research about the facilities and placements. For example, CS at SPIT has better placement than ME at VJTI or any of the other colleges mentioned here.  Also, autonomous colleges have better administration in MU. They have a better examination schedule, quick result release and you will have higher chances of securing a good CGPA.Read more
