SVCE Sriperumbudur Admission Process

Admission at SVCE follows a dual-track system. The government quota (50% of seats) is filled through TNEA merit rank. The management quota (50% of seats, higher than the typical Tamil Nadu private college norm) is filled directly by SVCE based on Class 12 marks.

BE/B.Tech Admission

Eligibility for all BE and B.Tech branches requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects, with a minimum aggregate of 50%. No separate entrance test is required at SVCE for either quota route.

  • Government quota (TNEA route): TNEA rank is based on Class 12 PCM aggregate. Only students who completed Class 12 from a Tamil Nadu school are eligible. Reservation norms (BC, MBC, SC, ST, SCA, PwD) are applied as per Anna University guidelines.
  • Management quota (direct): All-India candidates are eligible. A nativity certificate is required for non-Tamil Nadu students. No TNEA rank is needed. Applications are submitted directly to the SVCE admissions office at svce.ac.in.
  • TNEA cutoff context: CSE and ECE branches typically attract higher TNEA ranks. The closing rank for CSE under general category at SVCE varies annually and is published on tneaonline.org after each counselling round.

ME/M.Tech Admission

Candidates need a BE/B.Tech degree in a relevant branch with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Final-year students may provisionally apply but must produce the degree certificate before joining. TANCET score is required for government quota ME seats through Anna University PG counselling. Management quota ME seats are available via direct application to SVCE.

Lateral Entry

Diploma holders in the relevant engineering branch can apply for lateral entry directly into the second year of BE/B.Tech. Government quota lateral entry seats are filled through the TNEA lateral entry process. General quota lateral entry fee is INR 5,57,600 over 3 years.

SVCE Sriperumbudur Placements

SVCE Sriperumbudur recorded a highest package of INR 46.47 LPA in the 2024 placement season. As per NIRF 2025 data, the median salary for UG graduates stood at INR 6 LPA, with 678 students placed in that cycle. More than 100 companies visit the campus annually for recruitment.

Core IT and ITES firms dominate the recruiter base. Confirmed recruiters across recent placement seasons include TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, Temenos, Multicoreware, Prodapt, Commvault, and Genesys. Manufacturing and automotive sector recruiters, including Hyundai, Ford, Yamaha, TVS, Saint-Gobain, and Caterpillar, recruit predominantly from Mechanical, Automobile, and Marine Engineering branches. What is your review of SVCE Is it a strict college?

PhantomPhotographer

I'm in my second year studying Information Technology at SVCE, and honestly, compared to other nearby colleges, SVCE stands out. The teachers here are generally good and approachable, so if you ever need assistance, they're there for you. If you're keen on academics, there are mentors who can help you engage in activities beyond the college, which is great for gaining more exposure. They regularly organize workshops, guest lectures, and competitions on campus.

Cultural activities might not be their strong suit, but you can always enjoy cultural fests at other colleges. The campus facilities include a pretty extensive library, an auditorium, an open-air theater, canteens with decent food, a swimming pool, and lots of spots to chill with your friends.

The college asks for 80% attendance, but if you end up between 75-80%, you can submit a medical certificate. In my opinion, it's not a very strict place. There are just a few manageable rules.

How is SV University in Tirupati?

SynthwaveSorcerer

The question is a bit unclear because SV University in Tirupati covers a lot of different courses and fields. I'm not sure exactly which course you're asking about. I'll break down my response into two parts based on my experience with SVUCE, specifically from my BTech in ECE (class of 2016).

1. Education: Honestly, the education quality is quite poor. Most of the professors don't seem to care much about teaching, and the labs feel like they're stuck in the past with outdated equipment. There are very few extracurricular activities worth mentioning. The administration is a nightmare to deal with; they often come across as rude and unhelpful, and they seem to lack basic professionalism.

2. Life and Career: The best part of being at SVUCE is the people you meet along the way. Your classmates, seniors, and juniors can make your time there truly memorable. Back when I was there, the ragging was more of an interactive experience, which I found enjoyable, though I hear that's no longer the case. As for placements, don't expect any top-tier companies. Most opportunities are with companies like Infosys and Wipro. Many students aim for IITs and IIMs, preparing for exams like GATE and CAT, while others with more resources might go for GRE. Despite the downsides, if you're motivated and ready to work hard, you can make good use of the free time, the central library, and the LAN facilities in some departments.

In conclusion, studying at SVUCE can be a valuable learning experience, but if you're focused on excelling in a BTech core field, you might want to think carefully before deciding. Weigh your options and choose wisely. Cheers!

PS: Keep in mind that this is just my personal experience.

What is your review of St Andrews Institute of Technology and Management Gurugram?

ModemMouse

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Botany at St Andrews, and I find it to be a good college for my studies. The faculty is knowledgeable and supportive, which helps in understanding complex topics. The annual fests and extracurricular activities keep things lively, and the library resources are decent. However, I feel there should be stricter monitoring of attendance to ensure that students are focusing on their studies. Overall, it's a good environment for learning and personal growth.

What is it like to be a freshman at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering?

GlitchGoblin

As a freshman at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, I can tell you that getting hassled by seniors is very unlikely. The college has a strong anti-ragging policy in place. Overall, college life here is pretty good, with not much to complain about except maybe the food. The teachers are generally pretty relaxed, and some, especially in the English department, are really cool. The classroom vibe is quite laid-back. Unlike many other engineering colleges, there aren't too many strict rules, so you do feel a sense of freedom on campus. Personally, I feel lucky to be at SVCE, especially when I hear about the strict regulations at other colleges under Anna University. It's a fun place with a great atmosphere, and even if you're having a rough day, just walking around the campus can lift your spirits.

Is SVCE strict or free?

BogusBananaBoat

SVCE runs on its own rules since it's autonomous, which means the college can make its own decisions. In terms of rules, it's pretty laid-back. You won't find any strict dress codes like banning casual shirts or rules against chatting with girls. In fact, it's one of the more relaxed colleges compared to others.

When it comes to skipping classes, there are faculty members keeping an eye on things, but it's still doable. Just remember, you can't leave the campus during class hours through the main gate. Some students opt for the "jumpot" method, which involves hopping over the fence to catch a bus to the city.

Also, keep an eye out for monkeys around the campus, as they're known to grab things from you. Overall, SVCE offers a lot of freedom, but it's smart to use that freedom wisely. Enjoy!

What was your best experience at SV College of Engineering Tirupati?

PixelatedDusk

Hey there,

I was at SVCE from 2018 to 2022. The college seems to focus a lot on getting money from students. They often come up with different excuses to charge us. The food in the canteen is pretty bad, even worse than what you might expect in jail, and it's not safe to eat either (sometimes there are bugs in it). There's a noticeable presence of Brahmanism, as most of the professors are Brahmins.

On the bright side, the college has a good placement record. Many companies come here to hire students. However, if you have the necessary skills, going for off-campus jobs might be a better choice. For on-campus placements, they charge 40k rupees claiming it's for training, but honestly, even 4k would be too much for what they offer.

All in all, if you're looking to spend your money unwisely, SVCE could be right up your alley.

At SVCE Chennai (Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering), admissions for B.E/B.Tech is based on your Class 12 marks (PCM) through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling, where a merit-based cutoff rank is used to allocate seats. Competitive branches like CSE/ECE have relatively higher cutoffs, but the management quota can offer entry at lower cutoffs as per norms.

To be admitted into the UG courses, candidates must follow the TNEA process. The selection will be based on the score of the qualifying examination. Admission to the PG courses requires the candidates to clear TANCET. The application process for both these programs is strictly online and no physical application form will be available from the University.
