SNIST Admission Process

SNIST follows the centralised counselling model administered by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). Each programme family has its own entrance exam and counselling route. All admission processes are merit-based and managed online through the official TSCHE portals.

B.Tech Admission

B.Tech admission is based on TS EAMCET scores. The merit formula assigns 75% weightage to the TS EAMCET rank and 25% weightage to Class XII marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

  • Eligibility: 10+2 with at least 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • Reservation: Seats are distributed as per Telangana state reservation norms across OC, BC-A/B/C/D/E, SC, ST, and EWS categories
  • Stages: TS EAMCET registration and exam, certificate verification, web counselling (choice filling and allotment), reporting to college

TS EAMCET closing ranks for SNIST CSE and AI/ML branches in the OC category have typically fallen in the 5,000 to 15,000 range across recent counselling rounds. Civil and Mechanical branches have relatively higher (less competitive) closing ranks.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Diploma holders from AICTE-approved polytechnic colleges apply through TS ECET. Admission is directly to the second year of the B.Tech programme. A minimum of 45% marks in a relevant Diploma in Engineering is required.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech admissions are based on PGECET or GATE scores. Candidates admitted through a valid GATE score are eligible for the AICTE GATE Scholarship of INR 12,400 per month. Eligibility requires a B.Tech or B.E. in a relevant branch with at least 50% aggregate.

MBA Admission

MBA admission is through TS ICET counselling conducted by JNTU Hyderabad. Any graduate with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognised university is eligible. Seats are allotted through the centralised Telangana MBA/MCA Common Admission Process.

SNIST: 6 Answered Questions

Which colleges are best in Hyderabad for engineering especially for girls? Im a non local my rank is 33k and basically I dont want management seat

ShadowSoldier

Honestly, with a rank of 33k, it's tough to secure a seat in the merit quota. You might need to consider the management quota instead. Now, regarding engineering colleges in Hyderabad for women, here are some good options:

  • Sridevi Women's Engineering College
  • BVRIT Engineering College for Women, which is considered one of the best in Hyderabad
  • G. Narayanamma College for Engineering and Technology, another top choice
  • Vasavi College of Engineering, ranked second

Hope this helps!

Which college is better for engineering, Sreenidhi or Vardhaman?

Akshay EklariM.Tech Software Engineering, Vardhaman College of Engineering (2014)

Vardhaman College of Engineering is a better option as compared to Sreenidhi. There are a few reasons for this.

  1. The college is known for its punctuality and demands the same of its students.
  2. If you are looking for quality education, Vardhaman College is better.
  3. Classroom appearance and placements are well developed as compared to Sreenidhi.
  4. However, with recent statistics, the highest package offered at Vardhaman is INR 12 lakhs per annum. The same at Sreenidhi is INR 14 lakhs per annum.

Lastly, as a student, there is better peer-to-peer interaction at Vardhaman College of Engineering. Eventually, it boils down to your choices as a student and what you are looking for in your college.

Harsha TiwariStudied at Delhi University (2019)

My brother was a student of GRIET so I can very easily provide you with the overall description of the institution which I hope would help you in making the right decision for your career.

  • The faculty members are experienced and extremely knowledgeable in their respective fields.

Which is better for EEE, SNIST, or GRIET?

Isha MishraStudied at IIIT Allahabad (2019)

One of my close friends is a former student of B.Tech at SNIST and she had a very nice experience there. Based on the interaction I had with her, here are some of the insights she shared with me that might be helpful:

  • In SNIST, all the faculty members are highly qualified and well experienced in their particular field. They are cooperative and helpful.
  • For core knowledge and preparing for government jobs, GATE, etc. SNIST might not be a good choice.
  • GRIET, unlike SNIST, has a mix of good and bad faculty members. It also has a high concentration on robotics and microcontroller programming.

Should I prefer Sreenidhi or GRIET?

Kumar Shiwam
Nitish ThomasB-Tech from Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (2016)

I have a few friends at GRIET, so I can give you some information about the institute.

  • Although GRIET is an autonomous college under JNTU, it follows the same syllabus as JNTU. Don’t expect you will learn anything differently at JNTU.
  • Most of the faculty members are good however there are some associate professors and professors who don’t have a thorough knowledge of the subject. They use slides to cover the whole syllabus and give assignments that are of no use.
  • One of my friends was from ECE and according to him, they were assigned 1 laptop per 2 students. This seems like a nice approach but the con with this is you don’t get to choose your partner and have to do lab work individually.
  • The canteen is divided into only girls and boys sections. You are also not allowed to use your phones in the canteen.
  • The socio-cultural life at the institute is also very good with the institute celebrating two major events; Pragnya and Pulse. Apart from these two, the institute also celebrates many smaller events and fests as well. The classes also go on during fests as well, as with the norm in many other colleges.
  • The rules and regulations can be a little strict. Some students adapt easily while others don’t.
  • The placements are good but most of the students are placed in service-based companies. The ratio of getting selected for placements is 1:5 out of 1000.

Sreenidhi also has drawbacks but it is slightly better than GRIET.

Admission in Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology for ECE branch is based on TS EAMCET rank, where 75% weightage is given to entrance score and only 25% to IPE marks. Direct admission through IPE percentage alone is not possible, but management quota seats may consider minimum 50% marks in PCM for eligibility.
