Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics was established in the year 2004. SIG was established with the objective of imparting education in the field of geospatial technologies. The college is established under Sec. 3 of UGC and is accredited with grade “A” by NAAC. The college is affiliated to Symbiosis International University. It offers M.Sc. Geoinformatics (intake 80), M. Tech Geoinformatics and Surveying Technology (intake 18), PGD in Geoinformatics (intake 30), PGD in Disaster Management (Intake 30) and Certificate Courses in P & R.S programs (intake 40). The college has an impressive infrastructure with modern facilities. The faculty of the SIG is qualified and experienced in their field and imparts the quality of education to the students.

The college campus is spread in an area of 1.07 acres & build up an area around 9,500 Sq. Ft.
The library of the college is well stocked and spacious. It is in an area of about 616 Sq. Ft. There are around 574 books, about 11 periodicals and 4 journals for student reference.
The computer lab is well equipped and well ventilated. The lab is air-conditioned and has about 60 computer systems, 1 IBM Server with latest software’s related to the programs offered at SIG.

2. Well established Research Centre: Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics has been recognized for the membership of Joint Project 2 of Sentinel Asia, a Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency project to provide support by means of web GIS & Remote Sensing techniques in the Disaster Management.
