Ans. Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) is considered one of the best management colleges in India. The MBA program offered by FMS has been ranked 9th by Business Today 2018 and 6th by the week 2017. XLRI offers a 15 month and 2 years program in MBA as well as a doctoral-level fellowship program. It has been ranked as the country’s best private business school by NIRF rankings. Courses Offered: FMS: Faculty of Management Studies provides courses in a full-time MBA program, executive MBA program, and Management Development Program (MDP). It also provides doctoral-level programs for those interested in pursuing research. XLRI: It provides a 15-month duration and full time two years duration courses in Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). It also offers a doctoral-level fellowship program for those opting for Ph.D. The college offers many short-term management programs as well which lasts for 9 months to 1 year. Admissions: FMS: Admissions are based on CAT scores. If selected, candidates are further called for group discussion and personal interview. FMS provides only merit-based quota to SC and ST based on the guidelines of Delhi University. Thus general category students might have to score a much higher CAT score in order to get in. XLRI: Xavier’s School of Management (XLRI) conducts its very own XAT test for admissions procedures. XAT consists of a written test, group discussion, and personal interview process. Students are selected based on merit. XLRI does not follow the reservation policy for seats. All admission based decisions are dependent on the merit of students as performed in XAT. Students are allowed to give XAT multiple times however, no further reservation is followed. Placements: FMS: It calls around 200 companies every year to participate in their placement drive. In 2019, 210 placement offers were made with 50 pre-placement offers. The highest domestic salary was around 48 LPA with over 70% of their students receiving more than 20 LPA. Their top recruiters include Airtel, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Flipkart, Deloitte, HUL, Hero Motor co. etc. XLRI: It is famous for providing placements to 100% of its students and maintains a high placement record. It has collaborations with a number of reputed companies and over 109 companies participated in their placement drive last year. The average package was around 22 LPA with the highest going up to 50 LPA in 2019. Thus, for general category students, it would be much easier to get into XLRI than FMS. However, it also depends on their scores in the respective entrance exams.Read more

Ans. One of my friends graduated from FMS Delhi, said that it is one of the best B-Schools in India. Students looking for the best B-schools, can opt for FMS Delhi. The better choice definitely is FMS Delhi but the selection process is very difficult and the competition you will be facing will be way higher and tougher than IIM Nagpur. Considering academics, faculty, infrastructure, networking and other such things both of these institutes have a very similar standing but when it comes to placements, FMS Delhi takes the lead.  Categories IIM Nagpur FMS Delhi Placements Average Good Highest CTC 20 LPA 60 LPA Average CTC 8 LPA 10 LPA Recruiting Companies Deloitte, Mu Sigma, ZS Associates, etc. Asian Paints, BMW, Accenture, American Express, Tech Mahindra, etc. Another advantage FMS Delhi has over IIM Nagpur is that it has been here for the last 50+ years whereas IIM Nagpur has come into picture just 5 years back. FMS Delhi also has a brilliant alumni base and a better return on investment since their fee is quite less than IIMs.  So, for all the aspirants preparing for CAT, give it your all to achieve your desired score and then go ahead and opt for FMS Delhi but do keep IIM Nagpur as your plan B or back up option,if FMS does not work out for you.Read more

One of the Best B.school with an amazing location with a great set of peer group makes it unique. Where B schools are asking for too much fee, FMS provides top-quality education with a minimal fee. There is only one drawback of this college is the limited infrastructure but that is not much of a concern as the MSA, a student body of FMS provides ample opportunity to grow oneself so that one can't much think of infrastructure. The admission process consists of the following steps: Application for CAT, Application for FMS, Shortlist based on CAT Score (40 % for VARC, 30% each for LRDI and Quants). Interview (Extempore, Interview) Final shortlist ( CAT + Interview + 10/12 Percentage).

FMS is one of the top 5 B-schools in India and the best B-school in terms of ROI probably in the world with smaller batch size, the learning experience is better and the peer group is great. The only shortcoming is the small campus but the Delhi University north campus feels like an extension to it and it is beautiful. Being in the heart of the national capital, there are a lot of benefits of studying here.

FMS, Delhi is also known as the Red Building of Dreams is among the Top 5 B-Schools in the country. It has many good aspects be it the peer group that one will get or one of the best faculties for Management studies in the country and possibly in the world. At FMS one will get excellent corporate exposure. FMS also has location advantage being situated in the Capital of the Country. Although FMS doesn't have any considerable bad aspect one thing in which it is lacking when compared to other B-Schools could be the Infrastructure. FMS is a very reputed college. It provides very good exposure to Management. Also, the cost to study management is exorbitant for most colleges. However, that is not the case for FMS. Also, FMS being in Delhi could provide me with a lot more opportunities for improving my career. The admission process of FMS has been fairly simple this year. Due to Covid, the admission was based on cat scores. By word of mouth, I know that it would be a great opportunity to study in FMS.

FMS Delhi - The Red Building of Dreams

    Remarks -
    8.5 /10

FMS Delhi is one of the best B-schools in India, with its USP being the very low fees and the huge ROI. In fact, Its ROI is 10 times when compared to the old IIMs. We have this saying here at college "Why pay student loans when you can pay home loans instead". The only caveat here is that it doesn't have a dedicated campus and is part of the DU campus and thus it is quite small and we don't have any fully-fledged college hostels as well. Every year, the admission form generally closes around the CAT exam. The first shortlist will solely be based on the CAT score with a bit more weightage given to VARC (40%), while the other DILR & QA sections are given equal weightage (30% each). The final a...

FMS Delhi is one of the best places for MBA in India and it provides a great platform for students to learn, enhance their skill and expertise through class and peer learning. However, the college is a part of DU hence you don't get hostels for everyone in the batch. The campus is in Delhi, hence it's situated at the best place for corporate communications, but since it is located in a prime location, the college campus can't be expanded. The admission to this college is done through a CAT score, however, you have to apply separately from the CAT registration form. FMS has a unique selection procedure.

FMS, Delhi is one of the best B-Schools in India. The college looks around the overall development of the student. Also, the college is running through the student running body which makes students explore even more according to their strengths & weaknesses. The faculty members are well-known and helpful to the students. The admission process is really smooth and checks the knowledge rather than the scores. One must focus on extempore and speaking skills. The admission process for each year is being uploaded on the official website (www.fms.edu).
