Ques. What financial support does ISB FPM offer admitted scholars?
Ans. ISB FPM offers a comprehensive financial package to all admitted scholars. This includes a full tuition waiver, a monthly fellowship of INR 65,000, and free on-campus furnished accommodation. If on-campus housing is unavailable, a House Rent Allowance of INR 25,000 per month is paid. Medical insurance is also provided for the scholar, spouse, and up to 2 children, for up to 5 years.
Ques. Which entrance exams are accepted for ISB FPM?
Ans. ISB FPM accepts valid scores from GRE, GMAT, CAT, GATE, or JRF-qualified UGC NET. Applicants must submit at least one valid score at the time of application. CAT 2026 is the current cycle exam, with registration open until 15 September 2026 and the exam scheduled for 29 November 2026. Applicants targeting the 2027 intake should plan their test accordingly.
Ques. Is work experience required for ISB FPM?
Ans. Work experience is not a mandatory requirement for ISB FPM admission. The programme is open to fresh graduates with a 4-year undergraduate degree or a 3-year undergraduate degree plus a postgraduate qualification in relevant disciplines. Prior research exposure is valued but not mandatory. The programme welcomes candidates from engineering, economics, mathematics, business, and liberal arts backgrounds.
Ques. What are the specialization areas available in ISB FPM?
Ans. ISB FPM offers 7 specialization areas: Accounting, Financial Economics, Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Organisational Behaviour, and Strategy. Admitted scholars are placed in a specialization based on faculty availability and research interests. The first two years cover foundational coursework across the specialization before scholars move into dissertation research.
Ques. When does the ISB FPM application typically open and close?
Ans. Based on the previous cycle, ISB FPM applications open in mid-October and the deadline is January 30 each year. Interviews are held in March and offer letters are issued in April. The programme commences in August. For the 2027 intake, the application window is expected to open in October 2026, with the deadline around January 2027. Official dates will be published on the ISB admissions portal.
