Which is better Sri Venkateswara College or Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies SSCBS?

Both colleges have their unique strengths, but I personally prefer Shaheed Sukhdev College for its focused approach on business studies. The Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) program here is rigorous, and the placement opportunities are quite impressive, with most students getting placed in top firms. The fees are reasonable too, around 14,700 in the first year.However, the campus life can be a bit dull since it's an off-campus college, and I feel there should be more emphasis on cultural activities. Overall, I think the college prepares you well for the future, but there's definitely room for improvement in campus life.

Pros: You can expect a good salary after graduation if you're an average or above-average student. Being surrounded by peers who are engaged in extra activities like courses, competitions, projects, and internships can inspire you to do the same and help in your career and placements. Cons: There's not much geographical variety among students. The high competition can sometimes make you feel down, even when you're doing well. There are many student societies, but most don't offer practical experiences and exist just for the sake of it. Not all rooms are equipped with air conditioning, nor is the canteen, and there's no regular water-cooling on each floor. The canteen mainly serves junk food, which isn't very tasty, and there aren't many good food options nearby. The area around the college doesn't have many useful shops either. The back corridors can be unpleasant due to a nearby sewer, which gives off a bad smell, making you think, "What a place this is." P.S.: Please excuse any mistakes; I was in a rush while writing.

I've also noticed that the placement cell works hard to connect us with top companies, and many students end up with excellent packages.However, the campus life could be more lively, as it's a bit quieter being off-campus. Overall, I feel like I'm gaining valuable skills for my career!

Pros: The infrastructure and labs are top-notch, often better than many NITs. You can enjoy free Wi-Fi all over the campus. Scholarships are available for students who perform well. A research center is available for students. Sports facilities and support are great, with notable alumni like R Ashwin. The management isn’t too strict. The campus looks beautiful. Cons: The college is located quite far from the main city of Chennai. It's still affiliated with Anna University. The college struggles to bring in top companies for campus placements. The hostel and canteen food is really not up to the mark.

It's located across the Yamuna and operates in a rather old setup, with a makeshift canteen under a tin roof. Throughout the three years, it's common to find yourself complaining.However, if you manage to adapt and make the most of it, the college offers valuable experiences. One standout feature is its students. You'll find some of the brightest peers here, who you'll both love and find challenging. Getting into college societies is tough, and participating in events can be competitive. Not everyone makes it through to the second year on the first try, and those who barely pass feel a huge sense of relief.You'll find yourself in a constant battle to maintain that 60% attendance. It's hectic and wild, but when you look back, you'll realize it was all incredibly worthwhile.

So if the college gets a campus like NSIT, DTU, and IIT, then it will surely be one of the best colleges in the country as its only flaw will be taken care of. Many changes will be made in the college if its infrastructure is improved. Events that were earlier held outside the campus will be conducted on the campus itself. Moreover, it will stop receiving the backlash it gets because of its poor infrastructure and become a preferable choice for many.
