XLRI PGDHRM FAQs
Ques. Is the XLRI online PGDHRM the same as the residential PGDHRM at XLRI Jamshedpur?
Ans. No, the two programmes are distinct. The residential PGDHRM is a 2-year full-time on-campus programme with campus placements and a total fee of INR 32.44 Lakhs. The online PGDHRM is a 2-year part-time programme delivered through XLRI Online Learning at a fee of INR 14 Lakhs, designed for working professionals who cannot relocate to Jamshedpur. Both carry an XLRI credential, but the learning format, fees, and placement support differ significantly.
Ques. Are there any mandatory campus visits for the online PGDHRM?
Ans. Yes, the online PGDHRM includes three residential campus immersion sessions held at the XLRI Jamshedpur campus over the course of the 2-year programme. These sessions provide in-person learning, peer interaction, and access to faculty and campus resources. Travel and accommodation costs for these immersion sessions are borne by the student and are not included in the INR 14 Lakhs programme fee.
Ques. What is the XAT cutoff for admission to the online PGDHRM at XLRI?
Ans. XLRI accepts XAT scores for the online PGDHRM and announces the cutoff at the time of admission for each cycle. The online programme’s cutoff is typically lower than the residential PGDHRM cutoff of 93rd percentile. Candidates should verify the exact cutoff for the 2027 cycle on the official XOL portal or XLRI admissions page when applications open in January 2027.
Ques. Does the online PGDHRM provide campus placement support from XLRI?
Ans. The online PGDHRM does not provide the same on-campus final placement process as the residential programme. The programme is designed for working professionals who continue their careers while studying. Graduates benefit from the XLRI credential and access to the alumni network, but do not receive the dedicated corporate campus placement drive offered to the residential BM and HRM batches at XLRI Jamshedpur.
Ques. Can a candidate who missed XAT still apply to the online PGDHRM at XLRI?
Ans. No, XAT is the only accepted entrance exam for the online PGDHRM at XLRI Online Learning. Unlike PGDM GM and PGDM LSCM, which also accept GMAT and GRE, the online PGDHRM does not offer this flexibility. Candidates who missed XAT 2027 registration must wait for the following cycle, as XAT is conducted once annually in January, with registration closing in December of the preceding year.
