KASC M.Phil. (English) Admission 2026

Admissions to M.Phil. (English) at KASC are conducted as per Bharathiar University guidelines. The process is merit-based, with candidates shortlisted on the basis of their postgraduate marks and a university-level entrance/interview process. The 2025-26 application window was October 11 to October 31, 2025; the 2026-27 cycle is expected to follow a similar timeline in October 2026.

College Admission Dates

Note: Application forms for M.Phil. and Ph.D. are available from the Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore - 641 046, or through the college office. Applications can be submitted in person or by post with a DD in favour of "The Principal, Kongunadu Arts and Science College" payable at Coimbatore.

Entrance Exam Dates

Note: TANCET is conducted by Anna University for admission to M.Phil. and other PG programmes in Tamil Nadu colleges. All TANCET 2026 dates are tentative and subject to official notification. KASC M.Phil. (English) admission is primarily merit-based; TANCET scores may be considered as per Bharathiar University norms.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed a Postgraduate (M.A. English Literature or equivalent) degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) from a recognised university.
• B.A. English Literature or Part-II English at UG level (with four semesters) is the standard prerequisite for M.A. English, which in turn qualifies for M.Phil.
• Candidates must fulfil Bharathiar University's eligibility norms as applicable for the academic year of admission.

Admission Process

• Obtain the application form from Bharathiar University Registrar's office or the college office.
• Submit the filled-in application along with attested copies of certificates and the prescribed application fee (DD in favour of "The Principal, Kongunadu Arts and Science College").
• Shortlisting is based on postgraduate marks/merit as per Bharathiar University guidelines.
• Selected candidates are notified and must complete the admission formalities including fee payment within the stipulated date.
• Candidates from universities other than Bharathiar University must pay additional Matriculation and Recognition fees at the time of admission.

KASC M.Phil. (English) Scholarships 2026

KASC facilitates a wide range of government and management scholarships for eligible students, including M.Phil. scholars. The college has a strong track record of disbursing scholarships, having distributed Rs. 24,47,170 to 645 students in 2018-19 alone. Scholarships are available for SC/ST, OBC, economically backward, and meritorious students, making the already affordable M.Phil. (English) programme even more accessible.

Scholarship Details

• Students must apply for government scholarships through the Tamil Nadu Scholarship Portal (www.scholarships.gov.in) within the prescribed deadlines each academic year.
• Management scholarships are awarded at the Annual College Day Celebrations.
• SC/ST students are exempted from tuition fees; only a registration fee of Rs. 2 is applicable for application.
