Department of Management Sciences, which is also known as Pune University MBA (PUMBA) is established in 1971. Being the official department for the MBA course in the University of Pune has been an image booster for PUMBA. It offers MBA and Ph.D. Programs in various streams. Admission is based on National and State level exams such as MAHCET, CAT, MAT, XAT and ATMA.

The department offers two years full time MBA program in five functional areas such as Marketing, Finance, Systems, Human Resource, and Operations. Candidate will be shortlisted through DTE Maharashtra on the basis of MAHCET for Maharashtra Candidates. For outside Maharashtra candidate should have valid scores in CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA/ MAHCET.

Admission is based on ATMA exam and the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sciences (general or special with Biology, Ayurveda, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Life Sciences, Marine Biology, Microbiology, Physics, Zoology, etc.), Agriculture, Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology, Veterinary Sciences, Technology Engineering from a university recognized by the Association of Indian University (AIU).

PUMBA offers two years executive MBA in six functional areas - Human Resource Management (HRM), Systems Management, International Business Management (IBM), Operations Management, Finance and Marketing. Selection is based on Previous academic merit.
The department offers a Ph.D. program in Production Management, Organizational Management and Human Resource Management. Candidate will be shortlisted on the basis of post-graduation percentage and entrance exam conducted by the university.

College management is decent. The basic hygiene factors are addressed to. However, there is nothing exceptional that is done and students have to work hard themselves to achieve what they require
