The College is known to offer Bachelors of Engineering (B.E) in five specializations. It also offers Lateral Entry admissions in second year/third semester of B.E.
For admissions into the college candidates must appear in TNEA counselling which is strictly done on the basis of merit of HSC (Academic/Vocational).
In case of admission to Lateral Entry, candidates’ merit in qualifying examination will be taken into consideration. Candidate must hold a diploma in engineering or B.Sc. degree for eligibility.

Key Points for B.E. and B.E. (Lateral) Admission:
- Earlier, an entrance exam was conducted for TNEA counselling. However, from few years there shall be no entrance for admission.
- TNEA counselling will be conducted by Anna University.
- Applicants should belong to the state of Tamil Nadu and must complete their HSC from the state.
- Candidates from other states who have studied HSC from the state are also eligible.
- Candidates applying under management quota will be short listed on the basis of TNEA merit list.
- The minimum eligibility required is relaxed by 5% for Backward Class and 10% for other reserved category candidates.
VVCOE, Tirunelveli M.E Admission 2026
At PG level the college offers M.E degree program in four specializations. Admission seekers have to apply for online counselling conducted by Anna University on the basis of GATE or TANCET scores. Candidate must hold a B.E. / B.Tech. Degree in relevant specializations with minimum 50% marks.
GATE candidates are exempted from taking TANCET. Also, the short list of candidates is prepared by first preference to GATE candidates.

Key Points for M.E. Admission:
- The eligibility requirement is relaxed to 45% for reserved category candidates.
- For M.E., Candidate with Master’s degree in Science/Arts, M.Sc. Integrated degree, B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree, MCA, MCA Lateral are also eligible for admission.
- As per Anna University norms, Lateral Entry candidates are not considered eligible for TANCET.
