My life at SCMS-B

Likes

The campus,the placement the studying competitive environment
Being able to engage with SIBM faculties and students
High scale events,in all the various fields

Dislikes

Small campus as compared to other campuses in Bengaluru

Placement Experience:

There have been various opportunities from multiple companies ,packages ranging from 4lpa-6lpa Highest package-7 Percentage of students getting placements-~60 My plan is to pursue mba after bba.i have been preparing for CAT coaching on the side along with rigorous curriculum

SCMS - B in a nutshell

Likes

Excellent faculty who you can approach for any queries or doubts.
good scope for extracurricular activities with a lot of clubs and committees.

Dislikes

small campus size, its a single building with 6 floors where only 2 floors are allocated to us
lack of sports facilities, we only have a basketball court and even that is undersized

Placement Experience:

students are eligible for placement from the 3rd year. since im a 2nd year student im not really that well aware when it comes to placements so i wont be talking about it, however i will be making another post on this after i graduate so that i have a better idea on this topic

Likes

The faculty are experienced and well trained
The colleges gives a good amount of importance to sports
All the amenities provided are satisfactory

Dislikes

It is not a huge campus therefore not much campus life
The tuition fee is high compared to other colleges
There is room for improvement in mess food

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course and the curriculum are well structured and can easily be comprehend. The teaching methods used are efficient in terms of making the students understand the concept. The difficulty level depends on the course chosen.

Life at Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Bengaluru

All the faculty here in Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Bengaluru are very experienced.
The syllabus and curriculum are extensive and cover a wide variety of topics that are relevant for today's world.
Everyone in this college knows one another and has social interactions on a day to day basis.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after the fifth semester. Companies like Outlook and KPMG have made offers. The average package is approximately 5 lakh per annum. My plans after getting the degree are to work.

SCMS Bengaluru An engaging business school experience

Likes

The quality of the faculty. They are very well-educated and foster a good learning experience.
The library and other learning resources are also quite helpful. They give us access to a lot of e-books and research websites.
Situated in a good area with a lot of entertainment options nearby.

Dislikes

Very small campus with limited access to sports facilities.
The management is sometimes slow in addressing issues.
The annual tuition fees is sometimes not justified as the facilities sometimes do not live upto the cost

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements in their last year. And for the internships, it is provided during the 4th or 5th semester. The eligibility depends on having no backlogs or a CGPA above 6. Companies like KPMG, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., MyGate, Zepto, Ditto Insurance, etc. have come for campus placements. The highest package was around 6lpa I think. My plans after my degree would be to get work experience and then go for higher studies.

The Truth

The college is in Bengaluru as Bengaluru is a Silicon Valley
Some faculty are really supportive if you have any query they clear it.
The hostel is good it gives you a premium feel than any other hostels

Dislikes

The mess food because it keeps on repeating and the taste is also not good sometimes.
Sports facility is not good there is only a basketball court where everyone plays everything
Reimburse facility if you spend for any events where Clg sends you and they ask you to pay and they say will reimburse but they do after a long long time

Placement Experience:

For now our seniors batch will be leaving the college soon so I heard that placement are going to come this time from Mumbai Bengaluru but no doubt MBA students gets placement from jp Morgan and many good companies and mostly students do MBA after bba

Likes

The professors for Major subjects have good industry experience and teach application based knowledge.
There is a high spirit of competition among students for activities outside of academics that can serve as a motivational factor for students.

Dislikes

Very hot temperature in the college ac is also not available in classrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

The subjects are upto industry standards and are the required skills needed in the modern world. The teaching pedagogy is structured in a way the student can understand complex topics easily. There are frequent internal assessments that test your understanding of the subject and the faculty adjusts the course teaching pace according to the performance of the students.

You will be supported to participate in events and the attendance will be given if you are missing the classes for that particular event. which ultimatley helps us to access all other top colleges in bengaluru.
The faculty is approchable and all your doubts will be solved by them in a very friendly way.
college helps you to network with other people like not from your college. you will also get industrial exposure and cross culture exposure as students will be from different states and traditions.

Dislikes

campus building is small and you dont get that big campus building life for such huge amount of fee that you pay.
cost of living is very high like i live in bengaluru so the transportation is hectic and of high cost. for students who belong to a middle class family it will be difficult form them to afford sometimes.
I personally feel the college fees is very high and its difficult for people like me who is from a middle class family to afford.

Placement Experience:

im still in my 4th sem .i.e. in 2nd year so havent faced the placements phase. placements are offered to students in the third year and you have a seperate committee called placements committee to do that. after getting the degree i would like to do a job simultaneously my CAT prep for my post grad

Likes

the faculaty and their knowledge abouth the topics they teach.
the cultural exposuer that we get from different events.
the cross culture among the students of different states and traditions.

Dislikes

the fee is really high and its a little hard for a middle class person to afford.
the campus is really small. for the fee that we pay we expect a more bigger campus.
in an overall view the city is really expensive and the cost of living for a student in bengaluru is really high.

Placement Experience:

i think my college has an avg performance in getting placements for students. the average package that my seniors got is 6lpa. which is good number indeed but the point is not all my seniors got placed which is concerning. i think placement is the final output a student expects from their colleges in which my college performs averagely.

Holistic picture of campus

Likes

Infrastructure of campus is really good.
The food served is decent and includes different varieties
Digital note of cources which is convenient

Dislikes

Not enough classrooms for students in the college
Genuine medical certificates don't get approved which effects attendance
Delay by the main campus for approval regarding maintenance issues

Placement Experience:

Placement is catching pace in the college as the campus is not that old so we get limited number of companies coming to our college for placement. Overall it still has scope of improvement in the near future.
