Acharya Jagdish Chandra (AJC) Bose Collegetraces its roots in 1968 when two separate colleges, Birla College of Science & Birla College of Education were amalgamated into a single college. The college was then named Birla College of Science & Education. It was renamed as AJC on July 1, 1987. It is a government aided educational institute under pay packet scheme of State Government of West Bengal. The college is affiliated to Calcutta University.
With a desire to excel in the field of Arts and Science, the college provides 12 UG courses and B.Ed in various subjects under its top-notch faculty. A number of full free-studentship and half free-studentship are granted to the meritorious and economically backward students.
