I chose this course as it provides good job opportunities as per my interest. There are faculties with lots of experience as well as freshers. But, always experienced faculties will handle our practicals and major part of theory classes. The teaching method is really good. More emphasis is given to practical knowledge. Midterm exams and end-term exams are conducted for both practical and theory sessions as per nchmct norms. Ignou assignments and journal works are also given.
There is extra facilities for Andaman and Lakshadweep students. Around 1.5k is required for fees. It's a government college.Jobs with good stipend are provided based on your skills and knowledge.
The faculties are very good and experienced. There are around 1500 to 1600 hundred students in the campus. The faculties are well qualified. Exams are held maintaining all the standards.
Financial assistance is available to students who can't afford the fees but there is no written price hike policy. The fees is comparatively less for students from sc/st quota and there are also financial assistance provided for students who can't afford the fees. The fees structure is relatively similar every year but the fees amount changes from year to year.
Curriculum is vast but not burdening to the student in anyway. This is the right amount of subjects. It covers everything related to a hotel. The faculty members are very knowledgeable and have had many years experience in their field of expertise. But the college culture is sub-par senior students act like teachers and essentially harrass juniors which is not good and the teachers don't want to take any action. The infrastructure is extremely poor it could be improved by a mile all the equipments are old or out of order buildings and toilets are not maintained properly.
It's a three way course like if u want to start a business they have a subject same like higher studies like PhD and continue in hotel industry also u get a good opportunity like HOT and MT. And staff are friendly in my experience with good freedom.
Course curriculum is welll designed by IGNOU and NCHMCT both of them. It not only teaches about the hotel management but also about sales, marketing and HR. Faculties are both south indian and north indian, they are great in their subjects.
The fees of the college is around 3 lakh for the 3 years course.and the mode of payment is online as well as demand draft.when you join the college you to pay the college fee as a registration fee.and it's not expensive because when you do from private college it's around 12 lakh for the completion of the course.
As we know that. Now a day people of India choose their profession according to their profession. In hotel management it's a wide industry in all over the world.you have the chance to get job in foreign and you get job in 4 major department of the hotel.like housekeeping, front office, kitchen operation and f&b service.according to your interest in learning and passion you get a job.
It's a great and interesting course if you are interested in hotel and hospitality industry. Syllabus is very easy for theory part that you can pass exams easily by reading a day before exams. But practicals are though part as you have to learn each and everything and there is also viva related to that practical. Now let's talk about industrial exposure. So there is industrial training for the 3rd sem or 4th sem as per your batch i.e. Summer batch or winter batch. In this you will get chance to work in 5 star Hotel and see how industry work in reality. But its not so easy that you are getting spoon feeding. You have go through interviews and also GD's in some cases. Then there will be 12 - 14 hrs. Shift in which you have to work simultaneously. About our college faculties is that all the teachers are good enough that they will be helping in there subjects. Some teachers are there who are too annoying and you cannot attend there lectures as they are like sleeping hrs. if you attend there lectures. But once you join college you get to know and get habitual of the lectures that which one are imp and whicb one are not. But one last thing always attend all the practical lectures as they are not repeated once taught.
It's a very well designed curriculum, with good academic facilities. All faculties are really knowledgable. We get to learn so many things. The faculties are well updated with the industry evolving. We were given industrial exposure too.Mr.Eugene, Chef Mathew,Chef Senthil,Chef Vipin and Mr.Mohana Rangan were the best faculties we have at IHM Chennai
Fees is quite normal as it was an central government institute, fees is segregated into sems whee for each sem you would require to pay an certain amount including tution fee, library, electricity ECT ECT.and you can make payment by cards, demand draft, and may be cheques and net banking cash is not accepted.
Curriculum divided into 6 semester one in each semester different topic will be covered mostly our theory & practicals will be related to current sector (hospitality & hotels )and also it teaches basic and working of industry all these three years ae are learnt about the industry
Fee structure is somewhat always debatable for any institute as it may be feasible for some and expensive for there and vice versa. In my opinion the fee structure is feasible with less than of three and half Lacs capital requiring overall in completing the course.
Yes it is research driven and fair.It made me learn the value of real professionalism. It made me punctual, attentive, gave me an interesting outlook on life which helped me grow better as a person. Here the course is related to hospitality and hotel administration where you learn the basics and professionalism aspects of the hospitality industry.
