Christian College, Chengannur was established in 1964. It is affiliated to the University of Kerala and accredited with Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. The college has been managed and owned by Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. The aim of the college is to provide higher education in Arts & Science of the highest standard encouraging sound learning, building up character and upholding moral and spiritual values and creation of employment oriented skills is an additional goal. The mission of the institute is to provide quality higher education for the overall development of young men and women of central Travancore.

Extra Curricular Activities
The library has a collection of 26000 volumes including textbooks and bound periodicals. It subscribes 50 periodicals and 20 journals. The students and members of faculty can search 2300 journals and 50,000 books through the INFLIBNET facility.
The hostel facility is available for both boys and girl students separately. The college has a Women’s Hostel with an intake capacity of 85 female students and a Men’s Hostel with an intake capacity of 20 male students.
