As biochemistry revolves around understanding the chemical processes and using lab-based chemical techniques to solve biological problems within and relating to living organisms, the biochemistry syllabus covers the concepts of molecular biology as well as chemistry.

BSc Biochemistry Course Structure 

  • A BSc in Biochemistry is a 3-years program divided into six semesters.
  • The course structure of a Bachelor's degree consists of theoretical and practical work.
  • A candidate's progress is also accessed via Internal Assessment (IA). The IA consists of a series of tests, assignments, and Viva-Voce.
  • Electives are a part of the curriculum starting the 5th and 6th semesters.
  • A candidate is eligible for the award of the Biochemistry degree program if he/she has attended the course for not less than three years and passed examinations of all six semesters.
  • Candidates also need to ensure that they attain the required credits for theory and practical classes every semester.

MSc Biochemistry Course Structure

  • MSc Biochemistry is a 2-year program that consists of four semesters.
  • The course structure of a Master's degree consists of theoretical and practical work.
  • The candidate's progress is accessed via Internal Assessment (IA) consisting of a series of tests, assignments, and Viva-Voce.
  • There are also electives offered to candidates as part of the curriculum from the third semester.
  • The last semester also consists of project work that candidates need to pass.
