  • Components of Air – Air is made up of a mixture of different gases present in different compositions.
Water vapour, oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, dust and smoke are the main components of air.
  • How is Oxygen in the Atmosphere Replaced? – The process of respiration in plants and animals is responsible for maintenance of oxygen and carbon dioxide balance in the atmosphere.
Human beings inhales oxygen and releases carbon dioxide in the air. Plants consumes oxygen for respiration but they also takes up CO2 from the atmosphere and gives back oxygen. Thus, plants are called producers of oxygen.
