NCERT Solutions for Class 7 Maths Chapter 3 Data Handling Exercise 3.2 is provided in the form of a pdf file in this article. Data handling ensures the correctness of data. The representation of this research data can be in the form of numerical values and respective observations.

Exercise 3.2 is based on the concept of median and mode. Students are explained with the help of examples how to calculate the median and mode for a large group of data. Students then observe and interpret the data based on the questions provided.

Example From Class 7 Chapter 3 Data Handling

Ques. Determine the median of the data: 102, 56, 34, 99, 89, 101, 10.

Ans.  Let us first sort the data in ascending order (smallest to highest)

The order will be:

10, 34, 56, 89, 99, 101, 102

Next we find the middle number of the set.

The middle number is 89.

10, 34, 56, 89, 99, 101, 102.

The median is thus 89.

Note: In the case of a large data set, the number in the set should be divided by 2.

This gives information on how many numbers are above and how many are below the middle value.

For example, if the middle number is 101, then,

101/2 = 55.5.

We should thus ignore the decimal. This means that 55 numbers should be above and 55 below.
