SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Indian applicants to SRH Berlin need an accredited bachelor’s degree, an English test score and a valid APS certificate before they can secure an offer.
PG Requirements
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 55% aggregate or CGPA 5.5/10 (recommended); MBA requires 2 years of full-time work experience
- English test: IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 to 87 (0-120 legacy scale), PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo English Test 95
- APS certificate: Mandatory pre-application verification from the German embassy in New Delhi
- Additional: Statement of purpose, CV and passport copy; MBA requires interview
UG Requirements
- Academic: Class 12 with 70% or higher from a recognised board (CBSE, ICSE or State) (recommended)
- English test: IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 to 87 (0-120 legacy scale), PTE 58 or Duolingo 95
- APS certificate: Required for all Indian applicants
Key insight: SRH Berlin waives its English test requirement if the applicant’s previous degree was fully taught and examined in English, but the university requires a formal medium-of-instruction certificate on official letterhead, so request this from your Indian college registrar during the summer before applying.
SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences Acceptance Rate 2027
SRH Berlin does not publish an official acceptance rate, but a third-party-derived estimate places selectivity at 50% to 55% (estimated), reflecting the university’s applicant pool and its position as a private, capacity-based institution rather than a numerus-clausus public.
Selection is heavier on the master’s side, especially for the MSc Computer Science and MBA programmes, where portfolio, work experience and interview outcomes drive final decisions. This estimate should be treated as directional, not a published figure.
Reality check: A moderate published rate does not mean an easy admit for Indian applicants because APS verification, English test cutoffs and document authentication each add friction, and applicants missing any single item are rejected before academic review.

Key insight: The German post-study job search visa treats all state-accredited Hochschulen equally, so SRH Berlin graduates qualify for the 18 month residence extension regardless of world rankings. Indian applicants funded by education loans should still confirm the university appears on their lender’s approved list.

SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences Placements and Career Outcomes 2027

- Employment within 6 months: 85% of graduates (as per third-party placement data; verify with the Career Centre)
- Median starting salary: EUR 42,000 per year (₹45.78 lakh), market median
- Career partners: 400+ corporate partners across Germany and Europe
- Representative recruiters: Amazon, Tesla, Accenture, Siemens, BMW, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Bank and Lufthansa
- Post-study support: Germany grants an 18 month post-study residence permit to search for a job after graduation

SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences vs Peer Universities
SRH Berlin sits in the private applied-sciences tier alongside other English-taught German business schools, and comparison focuses on tuition, employability and location.
| University | QS World 2027 | Avg Annual PG Fee (EUR) | Avg Annual PG Fee (₹ INR lakh) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences | Not ranked | EUR 12,900 to EUR 15,800 | ₹14.06 to ₹17.22 lakh | English MBA and MSc CS in central Berlin |
| IU International University of Applied Sciences | Not ranked | EUR 5,900 to EUR 13,300 | ₹6.43 to ₹14.50 lakh | Distance-first with hybrid campus option |
| GISMA University of Applied Sciences | Not ranked | EUR 14,000 to EUR 18,000 | ₹15.26 to ₹19.62 lakh | Business-focused Berlin campus |
| Berlin School of Business and Innovation | Not ranked | EUR 12,500 to EUR 14,500 | ₹13.62 to ₹15.80 lakh | English MBA with London study option |
SRH Berlin’s edge is the combination of a 12 month MBA, 18 month MSc CS tracks and an on-campus Career Centre with 400+ corporate partners, which gives faster time to first job than most 24 month peer routes.
Indian applicants choosing SRH Berlin over lower-cost IU or higher-tuition GISMA typically weigh location, format and programme spread, since all three sit outside global rankings and compete on outcomes rather than prestige.
SRH Berlin fits Indian applicants who want an English-taught German degree in central Berlin without waiting to learn German, who can invest EUR 27,000 to EUR 44,000 (₹29.42 lakh to ₹47.96 lakh) across tuition and living, and who value a 12 to 18 month path to Germany’s 18 month post-study job search visa. The median starting salary of EUR 42,000 (₹45.78 lakh) recovers the investment within two to three working years.
It is not the right pick for Indian applicants who want a QS-ranked German university or the tuition-free public route. Those students should look at TU Berlin, TUM or RWTH Aachen instead, where public status removes fees but demands German proficiency and stricter entry cutoffs.
SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences FAQs
Ques. Is APS certification mandatory for Indian applicants to SRH Berlin?
Ans. Yes, every Indian applicant to SRH Berlin must submit a valid APS certificate from the German embassy in New Delhi before their application is reviewed. The APS interview verifies your academic documents and is a hard prerequisite for both UG and PG programmes. Processing takes 4 to 8 weeks, so book the appointment during your final semester at your Indian college.
Ques. Can Indian students work part-time while studying at SRH Berlin?
Ans. Non-EU students on a German student visa can work 140 full days or 280 half days per calendar year while enrolled. Part-time roles in Berlin start-ups, cafes and university teaching assistantships pay EUR 12 to EUR 15 (₹1,308 to ₹1,635) per hour. Working hours must not disrupt lectures, and full-time work is permitted only during official semester breaks.
Ques. Does SRH Berlin accept the Duolingo English Test for admissions?
Ans. Yes, SRH Berlin accepts the Duolingo English Test with a minimum score of 95 for both bachelor’s and master’s programmes. Duolingo is cheaper and faster than IELTS or TOEFL, with results in 48 hours. Applicants who complete an English-medium degree at an Indian college can request an English test waiver by submitting a formal medium-of-instruction letter.
Ques. What is the blocked account amount for a German student visa in 2026?
Ans. Indian students applying for a German D-visa in 2026 must deposit EUR 11,904 (₹12.98 lakh) in a blocked account with providers such as Fintiba, Expatrio or Deutsche Bank. The account releases a fixed monthly withdrawal of EUR 992 (₹1,08,128) to fund living expenses. The Federal Foreign Office revises this amount each year, so confirm the exact figure at the time of visa application.
Ques. Are education loans from Indian banks accepted for SRH Berlin?
Ans. Yes, major Indian public and private banks including SBI, HDFC Credila, ICICI, Axis and Bank of Baroda finance SRH Berlin programmes under their international education loan schemes. Loans typically cover tuition, blocked account funding, travel and living expenses, secured against family collateral. Non-collateral loans up to ₹40 lakh are also offered by NBFCs like Auxilo, InCred and Prodigy Finance for select programmes.
Ques. Does SRH Berlin offer a GRE or GMAT waiver for MBA applicants?
Ans. SRH Berlin does not require GRE or GMAT scores for its MBA or master’s programmes as a default. Admission is instead based on academic transcripts, work experience, statement of purpose and an admission interview. Indian MBA applicants with 2 years of work experience typically clear the interview stage on strength of professional profile alone, without needing GMAT scores.
Ques. Can SRH Berlin students switch programmes after enrolment?
Ans. Yes, SRH Berlin permits internal programme transfers within the first semester subject to academic advisor approval and seat availability in the target programme. Transfers between English-taught tracks (for example MSc Software Engineering to MSc Cyber Security) are the most common and typically involve credit transfer of foundational modules. A written application to the registrar and a EUR 250 (₹27,250) processing fee usually applies.
Ques. What is the refund policy at SRH Berlin if an Indian applicant defers?
Ans. SRH Berlin refunds the enrolment deposit minus a EUR 750 (₹81,750) administrative fee if withdrawal is confirmed before the semester start date. Tuition already paid is refunded on a pro-rated basis for the first four weeks of the semester. Visa rejection is a documented reason for a full refund minus administrative charges, and applicants should retain the embassy rejection letter as proof.
