NTA has extended the AIAPGET 2026 internship completion cut-off date to October 31 2026. Candidates completing their compulsory internship by this new deadline are now eligible to appear in the exam scheduled on August 22 2026.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a fresh eligibility notice extending the AIAPGET 2026 internship completion cut-off to October 31, 2026. AIAPGET stands for the All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test. The revised notice is available on the official portal at exams.nta.nic.in/AIAPGET.
NTA conducts AIAPGET every year for admission to postgraduate AYUSH courses. These include MD and MS programmes in four disciplines:
- Ayurveda
- Unani
- Siddha
- Homoeopathy
Admissions through AIAPGET 2026 will be conducted for the 2026–27 academic session.

Earlier, candidates were required to complete their compulsory internship by August 31, 2026. The revised notice extends the deadline by exactly two months. Candidates completing their internship by October 31, 2026 are now eligible to apply.
The extension was announced following a recommendation from the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).
The relaxation is expected to benefit hundreds of final-year AYUSH interns across India. Many candidates were concerned about missing the 2026 admission cycle because of delays in completing their internships. Such candidates can now appear for the examination without altering their existing internship schedule.

A Look Back at AIAPGET 2023
AIAPGET 2023 witnessed a similar extension in the internship completion deadline. During that admission cycle, the cut-off was also extended from August 31 to October 31.
The 2023 extension was announced following a request from the NCISM. The repeated relaxation reflects the regulator’s willingness to accommodate candidates affected by delays in completing their compulsory internships.
