AKTU reduces Exam Duration for Final Years; Tentative to commence from September 15
Dr A.P.J Kalam Technical University has made a decision of reducing the examination duration for all programs, including Management and Engineering streams. Students will have to appear for 2 hours instead of 3, for each subject.
The university has also decided to conduct all the engineering papers in one day. For B.Pharm and MBA students, all the papers must complete in 2 days.
This meeting was conducted on Saturday and the official notice will be released soon. Also following the guidelines laid down by the state government, the university has decided to promote over 1.5 Lakh students and arrange exam facilities for 60,000 final year students. All of such facilities will be done keeping the safety norms in mind and to avoid the spread of deadly Coronavirus.
Tentatively, the final year exams will be conducted for 700 colleges, affiliated to AKTU, from September 15. Also AKTU have announced conducting the state level Entrance Exam UPSEE on September 20
"Keeping in view the spike in Covid-19 cases, the university has decided to conduct examinations of students in the shortest duration possible so they don't have to take the risk of commuting to the examination centre frequently. The three papers of engineering students will be held in a single day while examination of BPharma and management will be over in two days," said AKTU spokesperson Asheesh Mishra.
He also stated that the university is having discussions on reducing the number of questions in each paper. This will give more choice to students in the examination. And hopefully, they can expect the commencement of the new academic session of the university by August 1.
