Established in 1980, Gulbarga University is a public university which offers PG and Research programmes in the faculties/ departments of Science, Social Science, Commerce, Law, Management and several others. Admission of eligible candidates to the university courses is done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination/ qualifying examination merit.

The university follows semester pattern system for all its courses – Odd and Even semester. End semester examinations are generally conducted in December/ January for odd semester and in the month of May/ June for even semesters.
