TNOU Result 2026 Portal by Program Type

Result Type Where It Appears Login Needed?

Revaluation results tnouportal.in Yes
B.Ed. Special Education entrance result and cut-off tnou.ac.in, as PDF No

How to Check TNOU Result 2026

Students check TEE marks through the e-Portal. The steps stay the same for every programme.

  1. Open the TNOU e-Portal at tnouportal.in.
  2. Select "Student" as the role.
  3. Enter the enrolment number.
  4. Enter the password. The default is the date of birth as DDMMYYYY.
  5. Open the result or mark statement option in the left menu.
  6. Check the marks and save a copy of the page.

Example: A B.Com. student born on March 5, 2001 enters 05032001 as the first password.

The portal asks students to change the password after the first login. The "Forgot Password" link on the login page resets a lost password.

What the TNOU Mark Statement Shows

Each course on the mark statement has two parts. Both decide whether the course is cleared.

  • CIA marks: Continuous Internal Assessment, out of 30, based on assignments.
  • TEE marks: the written exam, out of 70.
  • Total: out of 100 for each course.
  • Letter grade and class based on the percentage.
  • Result status, either pass or RA (reappearance).

Final-year students who clear every course get two more documents. These are the Consolidated Statement of Marks and the Provisional Certificate.

TNOU Passing Marks and Grading System

TNOU sets separate minimum marks for CIA and TEE. These rules apply from calendar year 2020 onwards.

Programme CIA Minimum (out of 30) TEE Minimum (out of 70) Aggregate Minimum (out of 100)
PG Programmes 13 32 50
UG Programmes 13 25 40
PG Diploma 10 32 50
Diploma, Vocational Diploma, Certificate 10 25 40

Note: A student who fails the CIA can pay a fee and resubmit the assignment.

Grade and Class Table

The letter grade comes from the percentage in each course. UG, diploma and certificate students pass at 40 percent.

Percentage Letter Grade Class
90 and above E First Class with Exemplary
75-89 D First Class with Distinction
60-74 A First Class
50-59 B Second Class
40-49 C Third Class (UG, Diploma, Certificate only)
Below 40 (UG) or below 50 (PG, B.Ed.) RA Reappearance

For PG, B.Ed., B.Ed. Special Education and PG Diploma, the pass line is 50 percent. These programmes have no Third Class.

How to Apply for Revaluation and Retotalling After the Result

Revaluation, retotalling and photocopy apply to theory papers only. Practicals, projects and dissertations are not revalued.

Service Fee per Course Time Limit
Photocopy of answer script Rs. 500 Within 15 days of result
Retotalling Rs. 150 Within 15 days of result
Revaluation Rs. 500 Within 2 weeks of getting the photocopy

Students apply online to the Controller of Examinations. The fee is paid on tnou.ac.in. An examiner from the approved panel checks the script again. A gap of 15 marks or more sends it to a third examiner.

Important: The third valuation mark is final. Revaluation results appear on the same e-Portal.

TNOU Result Problems and How to Fix Them

Students face a few common issues after results go live. Each one has a set fix under the TNOU exam rules.

Result Withheld

TNOU holds back results for unpaid fees or malpractice. Invalid enrolment numbers, wrong course codes and duplicate records also block results. Results also stay blocked once the maximum study period ends. After the pending fee is paid, the university releases the result.

CIA Marks Missing

The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) sends assignment marks to the exam wing. If they are missing, students contact SSSD at sssd@tnou.ac.in. The marks get added once SSSD sends the data.

Login Not Working

The portal offers a password reset link. TNOU also lists WhatsApp support at 93459 13378 and the email admission@tnou.ac.in. Exam queries go to coe@tnou.ac.in or exam@tnou.ac.in.
