The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, is set to administer the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 on November 26, 2023.

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta will host the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 on November 26, 2023, for admission to MBA programs provided by IIMs and other participating institutes for the academic year 2024-26.

IIM Calcutta provides several programs, including the two-year flagship MBA program and the Post-Graduate Program for Executives in Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX VLM).
 

In the 58th annual convocation, the institute presented degrees to 461 students from the two-year flagship MBA curriculum, 78 students from the one-year MBAEx program, and 40 PGPEX-VLM students.

IIM Calcutta has also completed the final placements 2023 for the MBA Programs, with students receiving 573 offers from consulting businesses, who were followed by finance, sales, and marketing firms.

MBA Admission at IIM Calcutta: Eligibility Criteria

The MBA admission policy for this year is the same as it was last year. The following are the minimum academic requirements for IIM Calcutta MBA Admission 2024:

  • An applicant must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA, 45% for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories.
  • Candidates who have finished an integrated master's or dual degree straight following their Class 12 will be considered based on the proportion of marks received as determined by the institute, which is deemed comparable to a bachelor's degree.
  • Candidates in their final year of a bachelor's degree or comparable qualification exam, as well as those who have finished the degree requirements but are awaiting results, are also eligible to apply.

Candidates who graduated in 2020, 2021, 2022, or 2023 and for whom the university did not conduct exams or award marks or CGPA but only pass or pass marks or promotion in one or more years or semesters of bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification are also eligible to apply. 

Candidates whose results were pending at the time of CAT 2023 registration will be required to provide a mark sheet by December 31, 2024, according to the institute.

IIM Calcutta MBA Admission: Selection Process

Candidates for admission to MBA programs at the institute are chosen in three steps.

Stage 1: Minimum CAT percentile cut-offs must be taken into account "Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for both section-wise and overall percentiles in CAT 2023 as outlined in the table will be shortlisted for consideration in Stage II, subject to obtaining non-negative raw scores in all areas of CAT 2023," IIM Calcutta said in a press release.

Stage 2: Selection for PI and WAT Candidates will be chosen for a personal interview (PI) and a written ability test (WAT) based on their CAT 2023 results and other factors.
