Central Universities collaborate with IIT Madras to telecast Crash Course for underprivileged students

In an effort to advance in the field of online education across the rural areas, Several Central Universities Universities have recorded video lectures with a total duration of more than 300 hours. 

Members of the faculty at the central universities have joined forces with IIT Madras to make classes available to students who do not have access to education through any other means.

These lectures have been prepared as a collective crash course to make up for the missed syllabus since the widespread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The whole effort is being organized by IIT Madras, which will be broadcasting the video lectures til 31st August on the NPTEL Channels 11-18.

A repeat telecast of the lectures has been scheduled to start on 1st September on Channels 11 to 16. IIT Madras stated in an announcement that it wants to help make education accessible to students from rural areas. Many students from underprivileged backgrounds have missed out on classes and have no access to study material. The lectures will follow an approach to focus on problem-solving. 

Students can check the schedule for telecast of lectures on the official website of DTH SWAYAM Prabha website. The faculty members also willingly volunteered to participate in the effort, acknowledging that lessons should be made available to students who lack access via other means.
