IIT Madras is a top national technical institute in India with 1st rank secured in NIRF Ranking. The Institute offers admission to various courses for which there are entrance examinations considered for admission.
IITM has nearly 10,000 students along with 1250 administrative and support staff. The faculty of the institute is quite huge with around 600 members, out of which around 300 faculty is solely dedicated to the Science and Engineering department.

The institute offers admission to UG, PG and Research courses across 16 disciplines in Engineering and Science, Humanities and Management.
The most opted course of IITM is B.Tech, which is offered under 9 specializations and admission to the course will be based on the marks secured in the JEE Advanced. The institute will release the Rank list according to which the aspirants will be considered.
To be eligible for M.Tech admission, the candidates must possess a B.Tech. degree with a minimum of 60% marks. Admissions to M.Sc and M.Tech courses are based on the candidate’s JAM and GATE ranking, respectively.
MBA admissions are granted on the basis of CAT/GMAT score. For the purpose of final selection, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis CAT Score, Past Academic Performance, Work Experience, Academic Diversity, and Gender Diversity.
IITM also offers a Diploma in Programming, Data Science and B.Sc in Programming and Data Science over online mode. The application form generally takes place in the month of January and the qualifier phase starts in March every year.
M.A admissions will be based on the Humanities & Social Science Entrance Exam (HSEE) score conducted by the institute.
For PhD admissions, the candidates are admitted through the entrance exam followed by counselling at the institute’s level.
