Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati in company with Udaipur-based Metal Solutions Pvt Ltd, have developed a self-check kiosk that can provide community solutions to fight against COVID-19.
The fully automated kiosk can accurately measure a person's body temperature without any physical contact. It takes only 30 seconds to detect the viral infection and identify whether its COVID-19, any other viral or bacterial infection.
IIT Guwahati Prof. of Department of Chemical Engineering Dr. Senthilmurugan Subbiah and Puneet Talesara, founder, Workspace Group and an alumnus of IIT Guwahati together developed the kiosk.
IIT Guwahati said in a statement, "With the return to normal life and ease in lockdown measures, it is necessary to ensure safe entry in any premises. The fully automated touch-less self-check kiosk is designed as per WHO guidelines. It instantly detects and records the syndromes associated with COVID-19 like body temperature and blood oxygen content and in case it is beyond the limits, it automatically raises alarm."
