CSAB Special Round 1 Cutoff 2026 Out at admissions.nic.in

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has issued the Special Round 1 cutoff 2026. The opening and closing ranks are now live online. Candidates can view them at the official portal admissions.nic.in/csabspl. The cutoff covers seats across NITs, IIITs, IIEST, SPAs and other GFTIs.

The cutoff data lists All India CRL Ranks for each allotted seat. Candidates use these ranks to gauge their allotment position. The portal allows filtering by institute type, institute name and academic programme. Both fresh allottees and upgrade cases can view their status.

The CSAB Special Round fills seats left vacant after JoSAA counselling. It runs across two rounds every admission cycle. This year, the schedule started with registrations in early August. The current round is expected to be followed by Round 2 shortly.

Understanding the Two Cutoff Categories

The Special Round 1 cutoff lists two candidate types. The first is New or Fresh Allottee. This covers candidates receiving their first seat in the Special Round.

The second is Upgraded or Seat Upgraded. The upgraded category covers candidates who earlier reported at a JoSAA Round 5 institute and have now moved to a better preferred seat.

All ranks displayed are Common Merit List (CRL) ranks.

Reporting Fee for CSAB Special Round 1 2026

Allotted candidates must pay the Special Round Enrollment Fee (SREF) to confirm their seat. The fee varies by category and includes a non-refundable processing charge.

Category Total Fee Non-Refundable Processing Charge
General, OBC-NCL, EWS Rs 40,000 Rs 5,000
SC, ST, PwD Rs 19,000 Rs 5,000

Payment must be made online using net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. The fee is adjusted against the institute fee at final admission.

Why This Matters

The CSAB Special Round is the last major counselling window for the NIT plus system. It fills seats left vacant after all JoSAA rounds. Candidates who skip this round lose their final chance at these premier institutes for the academic year.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in to admissions.nic.in/csabspl using your JEE Main credentials.
  2. Check your allotted institute, branch and category rank details.
  3. Compare your rank with the released opening and closing ranks.
  4. Pay the Special Round Enrollment Fee before the reporting deadline.
  5. Complete online reporting and upload the required documents on the portal.
  6. Wait for further reporting instructions from your allotted institute.
Keep an Eye On

CSAB will announce the Round 2 seat allotment result soon after Round 1 reporting closes. Waiting list candidates should check the portal daily for updates.
