Delhi University Form Correction Window to be active after Class 12 Results, dates are awaited
Delhi University (DU) is likely to provide application correction facilities once Class 12 results are out in the later stage of admission.
As of now, Delhi University has not declared a specific date for updating Class 12 marks. However, in all likelihood, students will be able to modify details on their DU Admission 2020 forms while updating Class 12 results.
In addition to this, the correction window will not permit applicants to make changes in all the details but a few particulars. This will also be a one-time facility.
Delhi University has not released any official notification stating details for application correction.
Earlier, it was announced that this year, DU admissions 2020 will be entirely an online process. This raises the concern for facilitating application correction windows.
To adhere to the contactless admission process, group discussion and personal interview rounds have been omitted from PG admissions. It becomes all the more important for mitigating chaos during admissions and leaving out on the otherwise deserving applicant.
For some time by now, the news was making rounds that there will be no correction window to be provided by Delhi University.
This issue was addressed in the admission-related webinar conducted by Delhi University on June 23, 2020. To which, it is believed applicants need to consider facts in the right context.
In any of the official notification and press releases, the university has not mentioned that students won't be allowed to correct their application forms.
While filling forms, students can make amendments by clicking on the ‘preview’ option for each stage of the application. Alternatively, students can also modify details hitting the ‘edit’ button before fee payment or final submission of the application form.
These clarify that Delhi University provides ample chances for applicants to make changes in their form while filling it. Excluding registration details, students are allowed to correct other details.
Meanwhile, DU will provide 5 cutoff lists with a 3-days application window. There will be no reservation based on domicile in Delhi and students need to submit OBC or EWS certificates issued by the Central Government only.
These norms were followed even in the previous year’s application process as well. Candidates were given a one-time facility for application correction that was limited to a few details.
Giving in to all the many complaints that Delhi university received in 2018, the university made a one-time correction facility for admissions in 2019. Students were given a final chance to make amendments specifically in setting reservation categories to avail relaxations if any.
