The DMK party has also submitted the petition requesting the Lieutenant Governor to recruit police constables in the state. There are major delays occurring in the recruitment process.
The party leader, Siva mentioned various other requests that were made. These included quicker acceptance of grants for government-aided private schools as the staff did not receive salaries and retirement advantages, re-opening of 3 public textile mills, cooperative sugar mills, and non-approval of increase in power taxes.
Apart from such issues, A M H Nazeem also demanded speedy train services from Karaikal and Peralam. It also insisted on providing daily requirements like rice through fair price shops or ration shops. Moreover, it also asked for wage payment to the workers in government-owned PSUs.
Adding, they have also requested to discard the garbage tax. The tax was previously imposed by the Congress party. In the light of these matters, Bedi will take opinions from various officials and then take a step/action regarding the plea.
