DU has also participated and organised some cultural-cum-academic activities from August 28 to November 29, 2023 as part of the G20 Summit.
New Delhi: Delhi University Culture Committee successfully hosted the Group 20 (G20) Valedictory Meet on December 27, 2023. The event was organised at the council hall at Vice Regal Lodge.
DU vice-chancellor (VC) Yogesh Singh presided over the meet. He said India has presented its spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam to the world through G-20. Singh also released the information bulletin of the culture council.
He also praised the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for turning government programmes into events of the common man. “He made G-20 a program of public participation. People from even villages tried to connect with it,” he added.
DU has also participated and organised some cultural-cum-academic activities from August 28 to November 29, 2023 as part of the G20 Summit. A film based on G-20 activities organized in various colleges and departments was also screened during the meet.
Prof. Yogesh Singh said that through these events the students got a chance to understand the culture of other countries. “Through these events we came to know that human behavior is almost the same all over the world,” Singh added. The VC congratulated the culture council and all the nodal officers and participants for these events.
Anoop Lather, chairperson of the steering committee of DU Culture Council gave the welcome speech. “Through these events, we got an opportunity to know that DU and its colleges are also very rich culturally. There are many wonderful talents hidden among the students of our colleges,” he said.
The program concluded with dean of culture council Ravinder Kumar presenting the vote of thanks. Heads of departments/principals and nodal officers/faculty members associated with the G-20 events were also honored by the vice-chancellor.
