Gauhati University BTech Counselling 2026-27 Scheduled for July 24; Check Reporting Details

Gauhati University (GU) has scheduled the BTech Counselling for Admission 2026-27 on July 24, 2026. The counselling will be held at the Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology (GUIST). Eligible candidates can check the official notice on the admissions portal at admissions.gauhati.ac.in.

The counselling is meant for candidates who applied for BTech programmes through the CEE (Assam) 2026 or JEE (Main) 2026 route. Admission is offered at GUIST, the technology wing of Gauhati University in Guwahati, Assam. Shortlisted candidates must report in person on the counselling date with their original documents.

BTech Programmes Offered at GUIST

Gauhati University offers BTech admission at GUIST across three engineering streams. Lateral entry is available for diploma holders in the second year. The programmes are AICTE-approved and follow a four-year structure.

• BTech in Biotechnology
• BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering
• BTech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
• BTech Lateral Entry (second-year direct admission)

Who Is Eligible to Attend the Counselling?

Only candidates who submitted the online application within the deadline can attend. The application window closed on July 12, 2026 for the CEE and JEE route. Candidates must hold a valid rank in either entrance exam.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology. The minimum aggregate is 45 percent for general candidates and 40 percent for reserved category candidates. A valid Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Assam is required.

How to Attend the BTech Counselling on July 24?

Candidates must report to GUIST on July 24, 2026 with all original documents. The counselling will follow a merit-cum-preference basis using CEE Assam and JEE Main ranks. Seats will be allotted stream-wise as per candidate preference and rank position.

The full list of documents required for verification is given below. Candidates should also carry two sets of self-attested photocopies.

• Class 10 admit card or birth certificate as age proof
• Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and pass certificates
• CEE Assam 2026 or JEE Main 2026 rank card
• Valid PRC of Assam
• Category certificate, if applicable
• Recent passport-size photographs
• Printout of the submitted online application form
