Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Only candidates who appeared in Assam CEE 2026 are eligible for counselling. They must hold a valid rank card issued by DTE Assam. The counselling covers government and private engineering colleges in the state.
How to Register for Assam CEE 2026 Counselling?
Registration is a five-step online process on the DTE Assam portal. Every step must be finished within the revised deadline. Missing any step forfeits the seat allotment chance for that round.
- Visit the official portal at dte-assambtech.samarth.edu.in.
- Log in using the CEE 2026 application number and date of birth.
- Fill in personal, academic, and category details in the form.
- Upload scanned copies of all required documents in the correct format.
- Pay the Rs 800 fee through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
How to Fill and Lock Choices?
After registration, candidates can access the choice-filling window on the portal. Colleges and branches must be added in order of preference. The system allows edits until the deadline closes.
Preferences must be locked before the revised deadline expires. Unlocked choices are auto-locked once the window shuts. Seat allotment then follows rank, category, and locked preferences.

The original counselling window ran for only eight days. An extension helps candidates from remote districts of Assam. They often face internet issues or document scanning delays. It also gives more students a fair shot at government engineering seats.
