Haryana Schools may reopen for Classes 6-9 from October 15

October 8, 2020: Haryana Government is planning to reopen schools for classes 6th to 9th in the states from October 15, 2020.

In accordance with the decision of the Central Government, students will be able to attend classes in a phased manner to take guidance from their teachers. 

On October 7, the Education Minister stated that if everything will go as planned, the students can visit the school from October 15, 2020.

The students will need written permission from their parents in order to visit schools to consult teachers.

According to the Education Minister’s response, he said: " We are contemplating opening the schools for the students of Classes 6 to 9 to enable them to take guidance from teachers.

Final decision will be taken in the coming days".

Schools in Haryana state have been shut for the past six months due to the increasing cases of coronavirus and lockdown restrictions. 

In the last month, the Haryana Government decided to open schools for partial doubt solving sessions for students of classes 9th to 12th.

Students from COVID-19 containment zones are not allowed to visit schools.

Schools need to follow the strict Standard Operating Procedures (SPOs) issued by the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare of India in order to conduct classes in schools.

According to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, schools need to follow the following procedures while conducting classes:

• Reintegration of students into schools in one of the important priorities of school after the reopening of schools.
• Teachers must be familiar with ICT integrations and skills. Training modules will be available for teachers for the same.
• Students must wear masks and carry their sanitizers during the commencement of classes.
• Adequate information should be collected from students and teachers upon their health.
• Flexible attendance and sick leaves policies should be encouraged. students and staff must stay at home when sick.
• Actions in accordance with COVID-19 protocols should be taken in case of detection of the COVID-19 case.
• Gatherings/Overcrowded situations must be avoided and social distancing needs to be followed during the commencement of the classes.
