How to Confirm the Allotted Seat?

Receiving a seat allotment does not automatically confirm admission. Candidates must complete the seat acceptance and reporting formalities within the deadline announced along with the result.

The seat confirmation fee must be paid online through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. After completing the payment, candidates must report to the allotted institute with their original documents for verification and final admission.

Candidates are advised to carefully check the reporting date, fee payment deadline and institute instructions mentioned in the allotment letter.

Documents Required at Reporting

Candidates should carry the following documents while reporting to the allotted institute:

  • HPCET 2026 scorecard and rank card
  • Class 10 marksheet and certificate
  • Class 12 marksheet and certificate
  • Graduation degree and marksheets for MBA and MCA admission
  • Category certificate, if applicable
  • Himachal Pradesh domicile certificate, if applicable
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Provisional seat allotment letter
  • Valid photo identity proof
  • Fee payment receipt
  • Other documents specified by the allotted institute or HPTU

What Happens if a Candidate Skips Reporting?

Candidates who fail to pay the seat confirmation fee or report to the allotted institute within the prescribed deadline will lose their allotted seat.

Such seats will be treated as vacant seats and may be included in the third round of HPCET 2026 counselling, which is expected to be conducted in August 2026.

Candidates who wish to retain their allotted seat should complete all admission formalities within the specified timeline and regularly check himtu.ac.in and ecounselling.hp.gov.in for further updates.

Why This Round Matters

The second round is the main upgrade window for MBA and MCA aspirants. Candidates dissatisfied with their Round 1 seat often improve their institute in this round before the final Round 3 begins.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in to himtu.ac.in on July 24, 2026 to check the allotment.
  2. Download the provisional allotment letter and verify the details.
  3. Arrange the online confirmation fee before the payment deadline.
  4. Keep all original academic and category documents ready.
  5. Report at the allotted institute within the notified reporting window.
  6. Track the official notice board for Round 3 dates if not satisfied.
Keep an Eye On

Watch the HPTU notice board for the Round 3 counselling schedule in August 2026 and any vacant seat updates.
