New Delhi: As per the latest updates, IIM Calcutta has secured the first rank in the prestigious BT-MDRA Best B-School Survey 2023 with an overall score of 899.9. This is the third time the leading business school has topped the annual BT-MDRA India’s Best B schools Survey.

Speaking on this occasion, Uttam Kumar Sarkar, the Director of IIM Calcutta said, “There is a lot of dynamism everywhere, whether it is course content, student expectations, career switch, etc. An institute also has to accordingly fine-tune itself in terms of content structure, delivery mechanisms and electives”.

This ranking is the result of various initiatives taken by the institute with the aim to become a technology-oriented management college in India. The institute has also launched online certification courses that have recorded a steady increase in registrations from participants.

“One of the specialities of IIMC is that the institute has always tried to be at the forefront of technology-oriented management. We are a management school but we are aware that we have to keep pace with the digital journey,” added Sarkar.

As of now, IIM Calcutta offers many online programs in multiple formats, such as six-month, one-year or even shorter duration. These programs are “aimed at working executives. “The idea is that our students should always have an edge in today’s digital world,” says Sarkar.

The IIM Calcutta Placement 2023 drive has recorded around 190 firms on the campus ground, which has offered up to 573 offers to 465 students who joined the session. The institute has well-equipped labs and state-of-the-art infrastructure, which makes it one of the leading IIMs in India.

Informing about the campus, IIMC Director said, “We are now trying to upgrade our infrastructure. Hopefully, in the next few years, you will see a different campus. That will increase our intake and [we will offer] new programs as well". Through the new courses and other initiatives, the institute aims to give its students an edge in today’s digital world.
