New Delhi: IIM Kashipur conducted a lecture series under 'G20 University Connect' initiative on the theme "Engaging Young Minds". The event was attended by Ambassador L Savithri, from the Ministry of External Affairs and K N Badhani, who delivered the welcome speech.

As per IIM Kashipur, various professors and guests from different fields also delivered speeches at the event. The lecture sessions were followed by question-and-answer sessions, providing the students a chance to interact directly with the guests.

Speaking on this occasion, Ambassador L Savithri praised IIM Kashipur's achievement in securing 19th rank in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). L Savithri said, “ India's focus on energy transition and its dedication to amplifying the voices of marginalised nations, communities, and individuals through the "Voice of the Global South" initiative”.”

After the event, the prize distribution ceremony was held which was followed by the National Anthem. Preet Tejwani, General Secretary of Student Body Council at IIM Kashipur delivered the vote of thanks. After this, L Savithri talked about the genesis of G20 and its impact on global affairs.

Ambassador L Savithri said, “How crises in 1999 and 2000 prompted the formation of G20, a coalition of 20 countries responsible for a significant portion of the world's population, GDP, and trade. The G20 summit and its rotating presidency provide a platform for nations to collaboratively address the pressing issues.”

The lecture series featured lectures by professors Kunal Ganguly and Abhradeep Maiti. According to the institute, Ganguly highlighted the infrastructural investment and logistics optimization while Maiti spoke about international trade and economic activities.
