IIM Kozhikode’s 100% Summer Placement Creates High Hopes for Post-Pandemic World

IIM Kozhikode recently concluded Day-3 summer placements for its largest-ever 24th batch of flagship Post Graduate Program (PGP), PGP Finance and PGP Liberal Studies and Management.

Despite the unhindered travels of COVID-19 around the world, as IIM Kozhikode successfully winds up the recruitment week observing a sweeping 100% placements, hopes sore high for a post pandemic world. The institute observed the first placement drive of the inaugural batch of PGP Liberal Studies.

IIM kozhikode Summer Placement 2020: Major Highlights 

Contrary to experts suggesting a ripple effect of the long-drawn nationwide lockdown, IIM Kozhikode Summer Placement 2020 saw virtual participation from E-commerce, Private Equity/Venture Capitalists and Front End Investment Banking organisations in the internship drive.

• IIM Kozhikode receives 100% placements at the summer drive.
• Recruiters set amazed by diverse talent pool exhibited by PGP batches at IIM Kozhikode with the inclusion of PGP Liberal Studies and Management with PGP Finance
• Adding to the gender diversity, the batch had 52% female students along with 40% from non-engineering backgrounds. 
• 60% of the students had prominent prior work experiences with top brands.
• This year, recruiters doubled the internship offers than extended in 2019.

Pursuant to the aforementioned data, IIM Kozhikode observed 144 recruiters extending offers to 541 students while the highest stipend clocking at INR 3.2 lakhs. 

The top recruiters namely, Amazon, Boston Consulting Group, Citibank, Deloitte USI, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, PwC and TAS extended an average of146 offers to27% of the batch.

Elated by the performance of the students, IIM Kozhikode Chairman, Professor Debashis Chatterjee pointed out, it is the sheer calibre of top MBA Colleges to secure a cohort of placement offers amidst the pandemic. 

The recruitment drive saw the most diverse and largest batch of IIM Kozhikode to put up with a first-ever virtual placement season. With robust technology and heartening participation of recruiters and alumni in the Silver Jubilee Year for the institute, the placement drive was a sheer success.
