IIT Delhi will commence the first batch of master’s programme in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS) at its Abu Dhabi Campus from January 2024.

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi Abu Dhabi has announced admission for 25 seats to its inaugural batch at the offshore campus. The registration process for the inaugural master’s programme in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS) is ongoing.
According to IIT Delhi, students from both Emirates and India will be able to apply for the program. “Potentially, we will look into increasing the number of seats in response to a sustained rise in demand,” said Dr Ahmed Sultan Al Shoaibi, acting executive director of Higher Education Sector, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek).
The program is scheduled to commence from January 2024. According to the institute, the admission authorities have implemented a “thorough” admission procedure to ensure a “comprehensive and fair student selection process”.
You will need to hold a four year bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, such as physical science, chemistry, environmental science, or earth science to be eligible to apply for the program. “For students holding a three-year bachelor's degree, they must complete a two-year master's programme in the specified science field. The admission cutoff is a CGPA of 7.5/10, a 3.0/4.0, or graduating with a percentage of 75 and above,” as explained by an IIT Delhi Official.
Other than this, you will also need to have a work experience of atleast one year. Those with less than that must score at least 350 in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or a minimum quantitative score of 150 in the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). “Shortlisted candidates with less than one year of experience will sit for a written test, while those with more experience can proceed directly to an interview.”
IIT Delhi will also consider your English Proficiency for admission. You need to sit for language proficiency test through EmSAT, TOEFL, or IELTS.
