The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has launched a number of programs, including BTech, MTech, and combined PG diploma programs, as part of its significant efforts to implement the National Education Policy (NEP). Click here to know.

New Delhi: IIT Delhi has launched a number of programs in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), including BTech Courses in Material Engineering, Energy Science and Engineering, Computational and Applied Mechanics, and an MSc course in Economics.
According to a statement released by IIT Delhi on July 27, 2023, the Institute has undertaken numerous steps to achieve NEP 2020, which is focused on higher education that is multidisciplinary.
The Institute will also offer MTech programs in Biomolecular and Bioprocess Engineering, Data Science, Electric Mobility, and Cybersecurity, as well as Master in Public Policy programs. In addition to these, IIT Delhi has established a School of Artificial Intelligence, Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology, and others to support interdisciplinary research. One of the main components of the NEP, offering students a variety of access and exit points, is also being implemented.
IIT Delhi Initiatives to Implement NEP 2020
The Dean of Academics, Professor Narayan D. Kurur, stated: "IIT Delhi is committed to putting the NEP provisions into practice. Several of the provisions have already been put into effect, and others are on the way. For the Academic Bank of Credits, we have registered”. The university will also allow students to upgrade, change their PG program, swap fields of study, and transition from UG to PG at the end of their first UG year. To provide students with a flexible learning environment, IIT Delhi has put in place various regulations, such as:
- The MTech program would be temporarily suspended while you looked for work and would then resume.
- UG students have the opportunity to learn about several fields of study and develop the specialisation of their parent discipline.
- Internships and startup incubation during the break semester.
- Depending on their abilities and capabilities, they can finish their course of study at any moment.
