IIT JAM 2027 Information Brochure Released at jam.iitkgp.ac.in; Check Last Date to Apply

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) has released the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 Information Brochure on the official website at jam.iitkgp.ac.in. The brochure carries the full schedule, fee structure, and eligibility rules for the upcoming cycle. Candidates aiming for postgraduate science programmes at the IITs must review it before applying.

The online application portal will open on September 5, 2026. The last date to submit the application form is October 12, 2026. The computer-based test is scheduled for February 14, 2027 in two shifts.

JAM is the national-level entrance test for admission to MSc, Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, and other postgraduate science programmes at the IITs. Around 3,000 seats are offered across the participating institutes each year.

IIT JAM 2027 Important Dates

IIT JAM 2027 Application Fee

The application fee depends on the candidate category and the number of test papers chosen. Payment is accepted through online modes only. The fee is non-refundable.

A correction charge of Rs 300 will apply for changes to examination city, test paper, category, gender, or date of birth. Any difference in the application fee will also be charged.

IIT JAM 2027 Test Papers

The exam will be held across seven subject papers. Candidates may appear for one paper or two papers. Those opting for two papers must pick options scheduled in different sessions.

IIT JAM 2027 Exam Pattern

JAM 2027 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Each paper runs for three hours. The exam is split into two shifts on the same day.

• Session 1: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
• Session 2: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

The question paper will include multiple-choice questions, multiple-select questions, and numerical answer type questions. There are no international examination centres for JAM 2027.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for IIT JAM 2027?

Candidates who hold a bachelor's degree are eligible to apply. Students appearing in the final year of their qualifying degree in 2027 may also apply. There is no age limit for appearing in the JAM examination.

Admission to specific programmes is subject to minimum eligibility conditions set by each admitting institute. Candidates should verify the programme-wise eligibility before selecting the test paper.

How to Apply for IIT JAM 2027?

The application form will be available only through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). Candidates must first register with a valid email ID and phone number.

1. Visit the official portal at jam.iitkgp.ac.in.
2. Click on the JOAPS link and complete the registration.
3. Fill in personal, academic, and test paper details.
4. Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
5. Pay the application fee through the available online modes.
6. Submit the form and download the confirmation page.
