IIT Madras has invited applications for an online course in Data Analytics named “Large Scale Data Analytics-Driven Systems Design.” Interested candidates can apply before 7 November 2020.
IIT Madras is offering the Data analytics course through the IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation which is the technological innovation hub of the institute.
The director for the course is Dr. V Kamakoti, senior professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Associate Dean ICSR, IIT Madras.
Currently, the classes will be conducted online. However, after post-pandemic students may be invited for in-person classes. However, the in-person classes won’t be compulsory.
Candidates who are planning to apply for the course are expected to have a basic understanding of programming language and databases.

IIT Madras: Data Analytics Course Details
The course consists of 300 hours of sessions spread across 50 weeks along with some tests and a final examination. Classes will be conducted only on Saturdays and Sundays of alternate weeks.
There will be two graded tests, two ungraded tests, and two exams which must be cleared by the candidate along with an attendance of 80% to earn the certificate.
The fees for the course is Rs 1,47,500 which can be paid in two installments. Candidates willing to apply must do so before November 7, 2020.

IIT Madras: Benefits of the Data Analytics course
The course is designed in such a way that it will prove beneficial for senior software engineers, module leads, team leads, and project managers as it would help them get knowledge on hardware and software stack and the data associated with it.
‘The course will enable participants to be fully independent in conceptualizing, designing and implementing internet-scale applications of the future’, says the IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation website.
