IP University: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) will launch Post Graduate Diploma courses on Fire and Life Safety for the academic session 2020-2021 on December 03, 2020, in technical collaboration with National Fire Service College, Nagpur.
GGSIPU Newly introduces Post Graduate Diploma courses on Fire and Life Safety will cover the training and safety guidelines to support the fire fighting profession in the country. This will count as the first time such course has been introduced at a university across the country.
On December 03, 2020, Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia will inaugurate the new PG Fire and Life Safety Program at Delhi Secretaria, along with IPU Vice-Chancellor Professor Mahesh Verma.
Minister of Industries, Delhi Government Satyender Jain and Fire Advisor, Directorate of Fire Services, Civil Defence, DK Shami will also join the launch function at IP University.
IP University's Post Graduate Diploma courses on Fire and Life Safety will offer 50 admission seats for session 2020-2021, which as per the university’s statement, are already filled by senior serving government officers, and officers of prominent universities.
The program will offer a procedure methodology, and format to conduct the fire and life safety audit in need. Referring to the program, the varsity stated that the course will offer professional education and training in the field of fire safety and precautions.
Professor Amarjeet Kaur, Director of CDMS said, “By starting this program, we got the opportunity to call upon the Fire and Life Safety institutions to encourage and nominate their employees to take advantage of this program through Centre for Disaster Management Studies (CDMS)".
He further added that the program will help students to identify and act for immediate actions in the time of need. Fire and Safety Education is a mandatory requirement in accordance with government legal provisions.
IP University PG Diploma program will provide various opportunities to the youth in the fire profession, along with great training and guidance. This counts as the first time a fire and safety program will be launched in India, he added.
