Candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir can apply for JEE Main January session from November 4 till November 8, 2019. The last date to apply for other students was October 10, 2019. NTA shifted JEE Main 2020 Official website to jeemain.nta.nic.in from jeemain.nic.in. JEE Main 2020 has received 9.34 lakh applications. As compared to last year, female applicants have increased by 15,247. EWS category, which has been introduced this year observed a total number of 81,413 registrations.
Form Correction Fees can be paid through Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI and PAYTM Service.
Photo Correction Option is available for JEE Main 2020 January Session.

The fees for General/Gen-EWS/ OBC(NCL) boys applying for a single paper is INR 650/-. For girls and SC/ST/PwD/Transgender, there is 50% relaxation and they have to pay INR 325/- for a single paper.

Age Limit
There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main 2020.
Candidates who have passed class 12th / equivalent examination in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE Main 2020.
No. of Attempts
JEE Main candidates can participate in the entrance exam for 3 consecutive years.
The exam will be conducted twice a year, candidates may appear in both the sessions.
If a candidate sits for both the sessions, it shall be counted as a single attempt.
Educational Qualification
Students who passed their XII or equivalent exam in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 are eligible for applying in JEE Main 2020.
For B.Planning, the candidates should have passed qualifying examination with 50 % marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination.
It is essential for B.E/ B.Tech applicants to have passed qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.

Year of Appearance in QE
Students who passed their XII or equivalent exam in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 are eligible for applying in JEE Main 2020.
Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2017 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2020.

Step-by-Step Guide to Fill JEE Main 2020 Application Form
Step 1 – JEE Main 2020 Registration:
Visit JEE Main/ NTA Official Website
Click on “Fill Online Application Form.”
Register for Online Application Form.
Application number will be generated after submission of personal details. The application number shall be used for completing the remaining steps of the registration process and for future reference.
Fill the Registration Form by Personal Details like Candidate’s name, Mother’s name, Father’s name, Gender, DOB etc.
Fill your Contact Details – Address, City name, Email Address, Pin Code, Mobile Number etc.
The candidate is required to choose a password and a security question and enter his/her answer for the same.
Candidate’s must note down the security question and answer for future reference.
As a final step, candidates need to fill the displayed security pin and click on “Submit”
Step 2 –Complete the Application Form
Candidate can login with the generated application number and created password for completing the Application form.
Aspirants appearing for JEE Main 2020 are required to enter details like Personal Details, Paper name, Exam City Preferences, Question Paper Medium, Educational Details, Parents Income Details etc.
Tick the Declaration.
After reviewing the details, Click on “Final Submit”
Step 3 – Uploading Documents:
After filling in the online form, candidates are required to scan and upload photograph and signature as per the defined guidelines by NTA.
The recent photograph should be coloured or black/white (but clear contrast).
Scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format.
Size of scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
Size of scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
Application forms with unclear photographs will be rejected.
Please keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of exam, seat allotment and admission.
Upload the correct Photograph and Signature as the facility for correction in images will not be given.
JEE Main Registration Fee can be paid via Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ PAYTM/ UPI.
Along with the fee, candidates have to pay service/Processing charges per transaction & GST (applicable at 18 %).
After successful payment, candidate will be able to print the Confirmation Page.
If the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is cancelled and the candidates have to approach the concerned bank for refund of amount.
The candidate has to make another payment/transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is not generated.
The candidates are required to check the status of fee payment at NTA websites – jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.nic.in
If the status is ‘OK’ the candidate will be able to take the printout of Confirmation Page.

If the fee payment status is not ‘OK’ the candidates are advised to:
In case the fee is paid through credit/ debit/ Net Banking/ PAYTM/UPI and the status shows not OK, it means the transaction is cancelled.
Such candidates need to pay the fees again and ensure the fee status as OK.
The amount will be automatically refunded for the cancelled transactions by the concerned banks to the respective accounts.
Note – Submit only one application form. Multiple applications from one candidate will be rejected.
JEE Main Application Form: Instructions For Creating Password
During the registration, candidate will be required to choose the password and security question. Candidates are required to save their password for future logins. Candidates are advised not to share their passwords with anybody, NTA or NIC takes no responsibility of any kind of misuse of the password. Candidates should remember to log out at the end of their session so that the particulars of the candidate cannot be tampered or modified by unauthorized persons.
Instructions to be kept in mind while creating the password are as follows:
Password must be 8 to 13 character long.
Password must have atleast one uppercase alphabet.
Password must have atleast one lower case alphabet.
Password must have atleast one numeric value.
Password must have atleast one special character e.g. !@#$%^&*-
How to Reset Password?
In case the password is misplaced by aspirants, the following ways can be used to set a new one:
Use Security Question and your answer during form filling.
Use verification code sent via text message at your registered mobile number.
Use reset link sent via Email at your registered Email address.
How to Apply for EWS Reservation in JEE Main 2020
NTA has issued a notice declaring applicability of the 10% Economically Weaker Section reservation for candidates applying for JEE Main 2019 and onwards. Hence, candidates belonging to EWS category are advised to mark themselves as such in thr application form. Steps to apply for EWS Reservation in JEE Main 2020 are:

Ans. Yes, you can apply for both B. Arch and B. Planning papers. In such a case, the exam duration will be of 3 hours 30 minutes.

Ans. Application Form Correction window will open from October 11, 2019 to October 17, 2019.
Ques. I am appearing in class XII and I haven’t received my roll number, what should I enter while filling the online form?

Ans. For this, you will have to file an application at Aadhaar card centre and get it corrected. You can enter the correct surname.
Ques. How to compress images for uploading the documents?
Ans. The images which are to be uploaded in the application form should be of a definite file size and dimension. By following the process given below, you can easily convert any image file into the desired dimension:
Select the image file and right click.
Click on “Open With” and select Paint.
The image will open in Paint window.
Click on the “File” menu in the top left-hand corner of the window.
Select “Properties”.
A small box will open where you can specify/change the width and height of the image. For Photograph it will be 35 mm X 45 mm and for Signature, it will be 80 mm X 35 mm.
Click “OK” and save the image.
Ques. I have forgotten my JEE Main Application Number, what should I do?
Ans. If any candidate forgets the Application Number, they can follow the below steps:
Retrieving Application Number: The fields include some validation information like Name, DOB, Fathers name, mothers name.
Retrieving Password: Go to the website and select “forgot password”. Choose Security Question & its Answer you opted while filling the application form. Enter the verification code sent via text message to your Registered Mobile No. and submit to retrieve the password.
Ques. What should I do if the fee payment status is “not OK”?
Ans. If the fee is paid through credit/debit card and status is not OK, it means the transaction is cancelled and the amount will, automatically, be refunded to concerned credit/debit card within 7 – 10 days. Therefore, such candidates have to pay the fee once again and ensure the OK fee status.
Ques. Can I pay my fee through Demand Draft?
Ans. No, payment of application fee by DD will not be accepted.
Ques. Where will I need application number of JEE Main?
Ans. The application number received at the time of JEE Main Registration will be required at the time of downloading JEE Main Admit Card and to check the results as well.
Ques. What are the reasons for rejection of JEE Application Form?
Ans. Due to the following any one of the reason, the form might get rejected:
An incomplete application form in any respect without uploading photo and signature
An incomplete application form in respect of without fee payment will be rejected
If the face of the candidate in the photograph or signature is unclear in the application, it may be rejected.
Ques. What is the State Code of Eligibility that needs to be entered in JEE Main online form?
Ans. The State Code of eligibility is the code of the state from where candidates have passed class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination. State of Eligibility is not applicable for candidates belonging to Nepal /Bhutan/Foreign/OCI/PIO.
Ques. While selecting the medium of examination, I opted for Hindi/Gujarati but now I wish to appear for JEE Main in English. What should I do?
Ans. The paper of JEE Main 2020 will be bilingual i.e. it will be in Gujarati/English and Hindi/English for students opting for Gujarati/Hindi at the time of filling the form. Therefore, aspirants are not required to change the medium of language. The questions can be attempted in any medium during the examination.
Ques. Is it necessary to put candidate’s name and date in the photograph? Would JEE Main 2020 application form be rejected?
Ans. As per the official guidelines issued by NTA, it is mandatory to mention name and date on the passport sized photograph.
