The final list was issued on July 30, 2026.

Shortlisted candidates can now submit the CAP Round 1 option form. The submission window opened on July 31, 2026, and will close on August 2, 2026. Candidates must confirm their college and course preferences before the deadline.

The CET Cell earlier published a provisional merit list on July 25, 2026. Candidates were given time to raise grievances against it. The final merit list reflects corrections made based on those grievances.

The CET Cell has issued three separate final merit lists. These cover Maharashtra State, All India, and Maharashtra State Defense candidates. All three lists carry a release date of July 30, 2026.

What Is the MAH BDes CET CAP Process?

CAP stands for Centralised Admission Process. It is the counselling process conducted by the CET Cell for admission to B.Des seats. Only candidates who qualified for the MAH BDes CET 2026 examination can participate in CAP.

The process runs across multiple rounds of seat allotment. Each round begins with an option form window. Candidates must lock their preferred colleges and courses in the form. The CET Cell then releases a provisional seat allotment list.

Candidates who accept the allotted seat must report to the assigned college. Reporting involves fee payment and document verification within the prescribed deadline. Candidates who miss the reporting window may forfeit their allotted seat.

Who Can Fill the CAP Round 1 Option Form?

Only shortlisted candidates can fill out the option form. Their names must appear on the final merit list. The merit lists cover three separate categories, and each candidate must check the list corresponding to their category.

Maharashtra State candidates are eligible for seats reserved under the state quota. All India candidates compete for the open pool of seats. Defense category candidates are considered for seats available under the reserved defense quota. Each list carries its own rank order.

What Should Candidates Check Before Filling the Option Form?

The CET Cell has published the CAP Round 1 seat matrix on the portal. It lists the number of seats available under each category and college. Candidates should carefully study the seat matrix before locking their choices.

The seat matrix provides a breakdown of seats available across Government, Government-aided, and unaided institutes. It also divides seats under the Maharashtra State, All India, and Defense quotas. Reviewing this data can help candidates plan their choices based on realistic admission chances.

Filling in more choices in the option form may improve the chances of seat allotment. The CET Cell also operates a technical helpline for candidates facing portal-related issues.

Candidates can call 9175108612 or 18002098851 between 10 AM and 6 PM.

How to Submit the CAP Round 1 Option Form?

The option form is one of the most important stages of CAP Round 1. The choices locked in the form will determine the seat allotted to the candidate in the first round.

  • Log in to bdesign2026.mahacet.org using the CAP credentials.
  • Open the Option Form section under Round 1 activities.
  • Search for and select the preferred colleges and B.Des specialisations.
  • Arrange the selected choices in strict order of preference.
  • Confirm and submit the option form before August 2, 2026.
Why This Matters

The option form is the single most decisive step in CAP. Choices locked here directly decide the seat allotted in Round 1. Careful sequencing can secure a top preference college and specialisation.

  1. Log in to bdesign2026.mahacet.org and confirm the final merit rank.
  2. Read the CAP Round 1 seat matrix and information brochure carefully.
  3. Shortlist colleges and B.Des specialisations in order of choice.
